Information and communication technology is consider as one of the essential aspect at
workplace because it aids an enterprise while transferring products or services across the
international boundaries (Arendsen and et. al., 2014). Hermes is one of the leading organization
at European marketplace whose main objective is to provide parcel services to maximum number
of domestic as well as foreign clients. Thus, assignment is going to highlight the significance of
information technology at workplace as well as its role in day to day business operations.
TASK
Significance of information and communication technology at courier company
Hermes is leading parcel brand at European market due to their on time services with best
quality. In fact, this firm operates in around 10000 countries and almost 4,500 parcel stores in
order to acquire maximum revenue by satisfying needs or desires of maximum clients. Basically,
company is growing day by day due to their effective plans, policies and advanced technique of
handling business operations. Thus, information and communication technologies are playing a
major role at workplace because it aids in offering best opportunities for managing various
organizational activities in much better manner. However, parcel company is all about
transferring of goods or services across the borders in an effective way without destroying it and
also responsible for timely transaction (Fuad and Bohari, 2011). Hence, managers of selected
firm is adopting various advanced technology in order to offer best chances to employees while
accomplishing their job role.
Information and communication technology use and economic growth:- According
to journal article of Masood Fooladi it has been observed that usage of information technology
is resulted in economical growth or development of overall nation. Main objective of this article
is to highlight the importance of ICT at workplace because it helps in maximizing the capital
flows with the help of relevant facts or figures.
For example; Hermes which is a leading parcel company is using effective information
technology process while transferring products or services over the seas in order to minimize the
chances of mistakes or errors. Hence, some of the essential benefit of advanced technology or

individuals aids in standardized the economy.

establishment of organizational positive image at marketplace (Nwana, 2012).
