Report
AI Summary
This report comprehensively examines the application of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and numeracy skills in research, focusing on the analysis of domestic violence data from 2010 to 2020. It begins by defining ICT and its role in data collection, specifically highlighting the use of secondary data sources and various ICT techniques like informative and constructive tools. The main body of the report then details the relevant numerical techniques employed, including mean, median, mode, and standard deviation, to analyze the collected data. Furthermore, it demonstrates how these techniques are applied and presents the results in an appropriate format using tables and figures. The report concludes by summarizing the key findings and emphasizing the importance of ICT and numeracy skills in modern research methodologies.

INTRODUCTION
This report focuses on importance of information and communication technology in recent years.
Technology have played vital role in making things easier for individual and it also help in
bringing effectiveness and efficiency in completion of task. Technology have made work easier
and it help in achieving goals and objectives effectively and efficiently. Information and
communication technology help people in all aspects of life which provide new and better ways
for people to interact and it also helps in accessing and gaining information. Information and
communication technology played vital role in every sector organisation for example in retail
sector consumers can buy or sell their good or services online with the help of their mobile
phones and tablets. Technology also assist in bringing comfort to their lives and making the
process easy and smooth of completing the work or task. Virtual reality, artificial intelligence is
considered as part of buyers which help in gaining instant and interactive access to products and
also help in providing the information regarding attributes of product and its features. This report
focuses on use of Information and Communication Technology in collecting information from
2010 to 2020 for domestic violence by using various numerical techniques (Aunio, 2019).
MAIN BODY
Demonstration of the use of selected ICT techniques when carrying out the research including
searching for secondary data relevant to topic
ICT which is explained as Information and Communication technology is defined as
technologies that helps in providing information to users by the help of cell phones, networks
etc. Information and Communication technology is considered as similar to Information
technology but ICT mainly focuses on communication technologies. Information and
communication technology have provided several new communication mode which help in
effectively communicating with people which are in different countries and introduction of
information and communication technology have enabled effective way of communicating with
people. This part of report focuses on Information and Communication technology techniques
which are used by researcher during research for this topic and the type of data which is
collected and gathered is secondary data (Cammeraat, Samek and Squicciarini, 2021). With the
help of ICT secondary data is collected and data is collected for the domestic violence in London
from 2010-2020.

Data which for this topic is collected by secondary source of data and secondary data is
explained as data which is collected by the help of newspapers, blogs, articles etc. This type of
data is collected from various sources and it gives researcher a lot of information and options to
collect data. Secondary data help researcher in making its vision wide and it help in
understanding scope of topic on which researcher is doing its research. Secondary data involves
large amount of data as many researcher have done research on same topic. Information and
Communication technology is the best way through which information is collected and stored.
There are various techniques that are used in Information and Communication technology
and these techniques are mentioned below:
Informative tool
Informative tool is explained as process of collecting data which is stored from various sources
and it help researcher in getting various information which is related to other sources. Purpose of
this tool is to provide information from various sources and it is used by researcher to use this
stored information according to their need and preference. There are several examples of this
tool such as Internet, Intranet, system etc. This tool is considered as effective and efficient tool
for researcher as it assist researcher in finding appropriate information about their topic and
according to their need (Carpentieri, 2017).
Constructive tool
Constructive tool is explained as tool used by researcher in order to store information which is
gathered and collected through various sources. There are different sources which are used for
storage of data and example of this tool are MS word, Power point etc. These tools are used by
researcher to store their data which is collected by researcher for their topic. These type of tools
focuses on storing data and help in keeping it safe for future use and it also help researcher in
analysing previous data and comparing it with present data.
Both these tools are utilised by researcher during their research and these tools are used to store
and collect data. Secondary data is explained as source of data which can be gathered from
various sources and which can be used for different purposes according to need of researcher
(Goos and et. al., 2020).
These techniques assist researcher in gathering data about domestic violence from 2010-2020.

Identification and application of the relevant numerical techniques to analyse the given data
There are various numerical and statistical techniques which are used such as quantitative
variables, ratios and percentages, mean, median, mode and standard deviation. These are some
techniques which are used to analyse data and interpret the results on the basis of analysed data.
Implementation of these techniques and how these techniques are utilised are mentioned below:
Mean
Mean is one of the essential concept in mathematics and statistics to analyse and interpret data.
Mean is explained as average or most common value in collection of numbers. Mean is
explained as central tendency of distribution of probability in median and mode. Its use majorly
implemented in finance as it is used for various fields related to finance. There are different ways
to calculate mean such as arithmetic mean which is sum of total total values in collection of
numbers and divided by numbers of numbers in collection. Another type of the mean is
geometric mean in which nth root of product of all numbers in a collection. These both methods
help in analysing data and focuses on interpretation of data (Greenberg Ginsburg and Wrigley,
2017).
Median
Median is explained as middle number in a sorted, ascending or descending order, list of
numbers and it can be more descriptive of that data set than the average. Median is also used to
opposed the mean when there are outliers in sequence that might skew of values.
Mode
Mode is explained as value that appears most frequently in data set and it is possible that one
data set may have one mode or more than one mode (Radovan, 2018).
Standard Deviation
Standard deviation is explained as process that help in measuring data set relative to its mean and
calculated as the square root of the variance.
Choosing and presenting the results in an appropriate format, using textual, table or figures
