In this report it has been described about that how ICT has changed the way of doing
business operations and offering services. Also, it is explained about that how ICT strategy
is creating value of services for organisation. In addition, it has been explained about the
operations of Pellet Fires Tasmania and their current strategy. Alongside, it is described
about that current ICT strategy that is used by company. in this many perspectives has been
considered that is logistics and knowledge management.

INTRODUCTION
In technological era, there has been high use of advance tools and technologies. This has
transformed the lives of people as well as business. Technology has provided vast number of
opportunities and platform for business to grow and develop. With help of it they are able to
provide products in wide area (Anwar and Djawad, 2019). Moreover, it has changed way of
offering services. ICT strategy refers of plan of action of using IT resources in order to enhance
the capability of company. It also helps in creating value of services and enhancing knowledge
management and improving logistics.
The repot will describe about operation of Pellet Fires Tasmania and what type of business
strategy is used by them. Alongside, it will be discussed about current ICT strategy that is been
used by company.
MAIN BODY
Overview of organisation and its operations
The company was founded in 2001 by Rob Douglas to provide a new Pellet Heating
technology to Tasmania. Its head office is located in Moonah was opened in 2004. They provide
various types products and services such as all types of technologies, (heat pumps, electric,
wood, gas, pellet, solar etc.). PFTAS Pty Ltd was incorporated in 2006 and continues to trade as
Pellet Fires Tasmania. Then, in 2012 warehousing facility was added. Ulverstone was opened in
2012 and Launceston in 2014. (Hu, Huang and Wang, 2019)
Its operations include installing of heating and ventilation products within the house. For
this they use high and advance technology which enable in offering high quality services to
customers. Also, they provide spare parts as well of those products.
Business strategy
At present they follow an advance strategy in which they have only targeted the region of
Tasmania. Also, they install heating and ventilation solution within house as per needs of
people. Thus, company has limited its area of operation. Moreover, they provide assistance
services as well. They have started a warehousing facility in which spare parts are stored. There
exist an opportunity for Pellet Fires Tasmania to provide total and comprehensive solutions
based on customer heating needs. For this they started installing heating products in house of
people. However, to expand in that area firm established a ware house where spare parts were
kept. Thus, it become easy to provide quick delivery of services.

Current ICT strategy used
An ICT strategy allows business to create an effective IT infrastructure which allows in
increasing efficiency of firm and generating value (Lutui, Cusack and Maeakafa, 2018).
Through this, it is easy for business to manage its resources and use it in efficient way. It also
aligns technology with business objectives.
Information communication technology in Pellet Fires Tasmania
In Pellet Fires Tasmania current ICT strategy is to install heating and ventilation within
house. They strategy is developed by aligning it with overall objectives of organisation that
focuses on bringing sustainability and creating value by conserving energy.
Centralised server- For that they are having advance IT infra. Alongside, they have established
a central server where all data and info is shared and stored. Besides that, the staff monitor and
checks performance of those products by visiting house.
Use of software and application- The company has focused on bringing sustainability by
installing those heating devices. So, with help of advance technology they are able to attain goals
and objectives. Furthermore, they have developed a plan for it in which first they identify
requirement of heating in house. Then, data is entered into software which provide info. The
products are selected on basis of it. Now, for installation company take support different
software and applications. However, the monitoring is done with help of IT devices (Solar,
Murua and Yañez, 2017).
System tracker - Alongside, product performance is tracked with help of IT system tracker. The
firm has used energy efficiency technology which has allowed them to engage in such kind of
business. By offering those products they are able to gain competitive advantage and retain
customers in Tasmania.
Logistics software- Apart from it, in order to provide logistics support they have established a
warehouse. Here, a software is used for it that share data and info between head office and
warehouse. Thus, data is communicated regarding need of product in specific area.
Online customer service- the company provide online customer services and repair products. In
addition to it, staff provide repair services as well of product. For this company is having an App
which is used by customers. They request for particular service and get it delivered at doorstep.
The company can enhance its IT capability by expanding its business. In this they can use
energy efficiency system which will be useful in gathering data about to how much extent energy

is consumed and saved by heating products. Furthermore, it is necessary for firm to sustain in
market for long term so that they can generate revenue (Tsokota, Von Solms, and van Greunen,
2017).
In this way, current ICT strategy allows enterprise to consult as well as install heating
products. Therefore, they are effectively using IT resources in order to maintain sustainability
and create value of services. With that, company is rapidly growing in Tasmania and are able to
achieve goals and objectives.
CONCLUSION
It can be summarised that ICT tools has changed the way of business operations. It has
enabled in increasing efficiency of KM and changing logistics as well. Pellet Fires Tasmania
operations include installing of heating and ventilation products within the house. The company
has focused on bringing sustainability by installing those heating devices. ICT strategy
developed has enabled in offering high quality products.
