This article is based on the research of the tour and traveling industry which had been become
more advanced with the help of information and communication technology (ICT). With the
implementation of ICT traveling and e-tourism is promoted and can be accessed from
everywhere and. ICT provides various ways to promote e-tourism. The e-Tourism industry
has transformed the way of tourism in a very good aspect.[1] For example, with the help of
ICT users can book their room in advance with any difficulty, book the meal for themselves
and do many things which saves the time of the user, also with the help of social media where
one can express their view and tell the other person about the ambiance of the place this will
help the users in deciding the place and what to book the room. It will also help in telling the
shortest and the fastest route of the destination where the user wants to go and also helps in
tracking the booking of various things. Many trip advisor websites work on the traveling and
package of tour and also give various reviews on the trips and location. With the
implementation of the technology things become easier and well connected, all the traveling
companies have made an application for mobile which is easy to use and also gives many
offers. Also by using the technology products and services are influenced by various factors
like rating, feedback, and reviews, which helps the owners to improve their quality and raise
their revenue by attracting customers. In the recent technologies exerted a very vast influence
in the daily routine of a human being. Travel technology is defined as the application of ICT
in the tours and tourism which helps in the booking and planning the tour packages over the
internet. [5]
This article examines the implementation of ICT in tours, its application, benefits. In today’s
scenario technology plays a vital role in shaping the tours industry and promoting the e-
tourism. according to a survey of a well-known company, about 75% of the travelers plan
their journey over the internet and around 10% of travelers use travel agencies to build their
package for the tour. It also helps in comparing the traveling package offering by various
agencies and can select the package according to their needs. The use of the internet and
mobile application have changed the lifestyle and way of people planning their trips which
saves time and the cost too. The arriving, departure time all things are shown which gives a
brief idea about the journey. According to Xavier Cubeles,” The touristy sector is immersed
in a profound shift ", in which " Internet and mobile have changed the way change of location
is planned and experienced and have affected directly in the professional profiles most in
demand and in the formulas for the publicity of destination.” [2]

1. Augmented and virtual reality: - In recent time the use of augmented and virtual reality is
increased in the e-tourism industry and this goes on increasing. These technologies are used
for doing the marketing of tourism places and also to increase client satisfaction. For
instance, the various hotel uses virtual reality technology to show their property, rooms, halls,
and restaurant in advance to increase the chances of hotel booking which results in an
increase in sale.
