Innovation is a great way to success in the modern business world. The path of
novelty in business means performing things in a smatter and distinct style that makes a
constructive difference in terms of quality and productivity by utilising emerging
technologies. In this sense, information and communication technologies (ICT) has proved
itself over the past two decades, where it has dramatically transformed the operations of
organisations and live s of people. At the moment, digital marketing, online shopping, digital
communication, social networking, as well as cloud computing, are some of the outstanding
examples of organisational activities that have been spearheaded by ICT. Indeed, research has
shown that it is currently not possible for an organisation to accurately plan its business, carry
out effective marketing, systematic management, make global sales, offer instant customer
support and undertake real-time monitoring without ICT. In light of this statement, this paper
will discuss how information and communication technologies have transformed
organisational activities and the value associated with this information to organisations.
Information and communication technologies have been of great significance among
different activities within organisations such as decision-making, and customer support and
satisfaction.
Decision making: For a successful decision-making process, it calls for an extensive
market research process by the organisation to allow the management to come up with the
right decisions. In this sense, market research can be performed through several ways like

interviews. Presently, Google analytics, Big Data, and Microsoft CRM Dynamics are crucial
tools used for the extraction of meaningful data that helps in making decisions (Yunis, El-
Kassar, & Tarhini, 2017). Certainly, these online implements provide both real-time

responses from prospect customers and make sure the accuracy of data by minimising the risk
of human faults.
Customer satisfaction and support: The satisfaction of customers is based on a real-
time customer support process. The success of a business relies on understanding the trends,
needs, satisfaction level, and behavior of consumers. Thanks to the progression in ICT, which
has resulted in effective communication that aids to comprehend the demands of customers,
their problems, and how to offer solutions (Chen et al., 2014). The internet has dramatically
allowed the organisation to communicate with their existing customers and prospect
customers in real time. ICT provides several communication channels through which
organisations can communicate with their clients, such as emails, social media, online
newsletters, webinar, and text messaging.
Technology plays a significant role in enabling organisations to market their products
and services to the international markets while at the comfort of their premises (Wu, Straub,
& Liang, 2015). With the advent of cloud computing and modern forms of technology
particularly social networking sites like Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter among others, it has
enabled companies to form international organisations where managers are able to monitor
their offices across the globe virtually. The success of any business relies upon some aspects,
which include choosing the right technology and accurate analysis. Recent studies show that
in the past two decades it has revealed that companies that have invested in technology and
working toward novelty have increased their finances, market share and competitive edge
(Ismail, & Mamat, 2012).
