unit of competence.
The assessment activities are an important part of your training program as they provide an
opportunity to apply what you have been learning and they give both you and your trainer feedback

Scenario
You have been hired as an IT Manager at Ransford College.
The College needs a new Learning Management system due to the increased number of students.
Currently, students and trainers are using a paper-based approach, but as the college grows this
approach is not practical any more, as it affects the students experience and the quality of the
education provided. More specifically:
 Students need to handwrite their assessments or to develop Word Documents separately
and print them out which is not cost effective
 All assessments need to be printed out instead of being uploaded to and LMS which takes up
a lot of time and money.
 Teachers need to provided feedback and results in the old-fashioned handwritten way which
takes up a lot of their time.
 Students can’t check their results until the end of the term when the trainers submit
everything to the administration staff and then they only provide the academic progress as
per student’s request. This is currently very time consuming and non-practical.
 Students do not have access to any training material and trainers need to email all additional
resources to each student.
