AI Summary
This report outlines a research project management plan for improving patient safety in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). The project encompasses several key steps, starting with topic selection and literature review to develop a strong understanding of the current issues and standards of care. The research will then proceed to problem statement and hypothesis development, followed by obtaining hospital permission and selecting a target group for research using a Randomized Control Trial (RCT) sampling method, involving nurses, patients, and management personnel. The research methodology will employ a mixed-method approach, combining qualitative and quantitative data collection and analysis. The project is designed to span 52 weeks, with a detailed timeframe allocated to each stage, including data collection, analysis, and the development of conclusions. The report includes a Gantt chart illustrating the project's timeline and milestones, emphasizing the importance of a well-structured plan for a successful research outcome. The references cited support the project's focus on patient safety, nursing interventions, and effective strategies within the ICU environment.

NURSING ASSIGNMENT
Project Management Plan
The project here is the primary research for obtaining the knowledge about the patient
safety under Acute Care in Intensive Care Unit (ICU). The research project will be comprised of
several steps and the completion of the project depends on different aspects and a number of
people. For the project management firstly the topic selection and the research question
development are required. Based on the research question the background knowledge will be
developed through literature search. In order to develop the idea about the condition and the local
and global aspect of the care policies and standards of care in ICU literature review is an
important step (Macleod & Nhamo‐Murire, 2016). Based on the literature review the
investigators will be able to develop the knowledge about the issues in the care facility and the
affecting factors of patient safety (Driscoll et al., 2018). Now the problem statement and the
hypothesis will be developed based on the literature review. The hospital will be selected where
the study will be conducted and permission will be taken from the hospital management for
conducting the research (Smith et al., 2018). After all these steps the selection of the target group
for research will be selected. Here the target selection and assigning the people in groups for the
assessment will be done with the help of Randomised Control Trial (RCT) sampling method
(Salzwedel et al., 2016). The target population will be comprised of nurses, patients and the
management personnel of the health care organisation. Method of the research will be mixed
method that is qualitative and quantitative data collection and data analysis (Palinkas et al.,
2015). The result will be developed by the data analysis process. The data analysis process will
be helpful in the development of the discussion and conclusion on this topic. Hence, it can be
stated that the project is long and dependent on different stages. Hence, the research process will
be done after developing a proper timeframe planning as well.

NURSING ASSIGNMENT
Timeframe
The timeframe of the project should be pre-planned and based on this timeframe the
program should be conducted based on this timeframe. The entire project will be conducted for
52 weeks that is 12 months. The topic selection and literature review process will be done for 4
to 8 weeks. After this the problem statement and hypothesis development will be done for 3
more weeks along with obtaining permission from the hospital facility for the research study.
After this the data collection process will be done with consideration of observation and
interview process which will take up to 26 weeks. After this the process of the data analysis will
take place and it will take up to 10 weeks. The discussion and conclusion development based on
the result and the data analysis will then be done and the process will take the final 5 weeks of
the program. Hence, the management plan will be done on the basis of this timeline and the data
collection and the data analysis will take most of the time in this process. Therefore, the
consideration of the data analysis process should be prioritized as it is a primary research project.
