INTRODUCTION
Innovation is defined as a process in which an individual create value by implementing
new ideas. Innovation starts with the generation of creative ideas along with this it is mainly
concerned with, discovery and searching, development, adoption of new products,
experimentation and new organisational set ups (Liu, Wang and Liu, 2020). If it is talked about
idea generation, it is a creative procedure that involves allocation of ideas, testing, research,
editing and ultimate implementation of plan. They are mainly known as key to innovation
through which innovation facilitates. In this report formative discussion has been made upon the
concept of idea generation.
Discussion of statement
“Idea generation is described as the process of creating, developing and communicating
abstract, concrete or visual ideas. It’s the front end part of the idea management funnel and it
focuses on coming up with possible solutions to perceived or actual problems and
opportunities.” (Julia Kylliäinen, 2019).
As per the above mentioned statement, it has been determined that ideas acts as primary
step that leads an organisation or an individual to make improvement (Han, Forbes and Schaefer,
2020). As, in order to assure progress organisations and human beings mainly look upon new
ideas. Further it has been evaluated that new ideas aid an individual to solve particular issue. In
addition to this, idea generation allows organisation to uncover opportunities for further growth
and development.

In order to facilitate process of Idea generation for innovation organisation can undertake
advantage of different idea generation tools and techniques such as, first principles design,
collaborative innovation, social listening, mind mapping and more (Kirjavainen and Holtta-Otto,
2020). With these techniques and tools organisation can unlock creativity within their
organisation that further helps in generating idea for better opportunities and solutions to deal
with practical realities of situation in effective manner.

without them it becomes much harder to execute learning generation of new idea and process of

According to the above mentioned analysis, it has been concluded that innovation is an
essential factor that encourage company or an individual towards more growth and opportunities.
Innovation requires generation of new ideas. For this it has been recommended to undertake use
of different techniques and tools to generate with more effectiveness. In this by engaging in
observation and brainstorming sessions will an in generating more efficient ideas. For this
individual is required to develop their understanding related to skills like time management,
innovation thinking skills and communication skills as to strengthen their effectiveness of
generating ideas. Along with this, management within organisation is also required enhance
these skills along with commercial and market awareness skills among employees as they are
