and her family?
The professional organization that has provided Carlyn and her family
professional services is U.S. Department of Education. U.S. Department
of Education is concerned about the education of the children who
possesses some kind of disability. Hence, it has arranged programs like-
Free Appropriate Public Education , by tying up with several educational
institutions including pre-schools. Under the Individuals with Disabilities
Education Act, U.S. Department of Education has arranged individualized
family as well as child education programs (Special Education Guide. 2019).
They are the parts of Early Intervention programs of U.S government
(Google Drive. 2019).
● Who would be paying for services provided to Carlyn and her family?
The government of United States would be paying for Carlyn and her
family (Google Drive. 2019).
4. IFSP Component: CURRENT LEVELS OF FUNCTIONING

COGNITIVE: During her initial days of joining school Carlyn was only observing other
children instead of interacting with other children She has started playing cards with
the boys and plays with dolls with the girls.
COMMUNICATIVE: She has started making sounds like “Baba” “Thatha”
EMOTIONAL / BEHAVIORAL / SOCIAL:
She loves to interact with friends with a smile and makes sounds when she is happy.
She makes sounds, 20 times a day, Previously she was not able to make sounds to
expression emotions. she raises her hands whenever she needs anything.
PHYSICAL: At first she was able to have two swallows of a liquid. She used to take 2
hours to have two ounces of milk. She has now started to drink half a glass milk.
Previously she used to have one bite of a cookie and one bite of a toast, but now she
has started eating the one whole cookie and also ask for more by raising hands (Google
Drive. 2019).
5. IFSP Component: FAMILY INFORMATION: What important information about
Carlyn’s family would be helpful to the professionals who are involved in her
education? Provide at least two examples of this.
1-One of the vital information about Carlyn’s family that will assist the professional to
Get an idea how much support Carlyn gets from her family, is the patience and care on
the part of Carlyn’s parents. Carlyn;’s family treated Carlyn with extremely patience and
special attention. For example- being a specially abled child Carly used to take a couple
of hours to have two ounce of milk, but her parents did not lose patience and hopes,
rather they keep on making ceaseless efforts and tried various ways to make Carlyn
feel delighted and enjoy having foods and milk (Google Drive. 2019).
2- In order to analyze Carlyn’s interaction with her peers, first the professionals like Pat
Becherar, who is the educator of Carlyn in the preschool needs to know how Carlyn
interact with other children, for this purpose, the information regarding Carlyn’s

interaction with her brothers are considered to be one of the important information. For
example, the educators needs to know that,

6. IFSP Component: SERVICES- Identify specific services that you would
recommend for Carlyn and her family. Provide at least one example of a

she needs them for each area.
For Example: Cognitive- Julia needs math support to help her with her
difficulties in understanding the operations addition and subtraction. On her
assessment she mixed up the signs on 4 out of 6 chances.
COGNITIVE:
Carlyn needs guidance to understand the differences in colors and shapes so that she
can easily understand difference between, playing objects, cups and plates.
COMMUNICATIVE:
Carlyn needs assistance, to trust her peers and interact with them more freely.
EMOTIONAL / BEHAVIORAL / SOCIAL:
Carlyn needs help from parents and educators to learn behavioral skills, understand
other’s emotion. For example, if Carlyn have a whole glass of milk and tried to chat with
peers at the preschool, this will bring smile on the face of Carlyn’s educator as well as
parents. If Carlyn is able to identify the emotions of her parents as well as educators
and realize that they are happy because of her improvement, she will be encouraged to
improve more (Special Education Guide., 2019). Hence, it is essential for Carlyn to receive
proper guidance to understand the emotions of others (Google Drive., 2019).
PHYSICAL:
Carlyn have started walking on her own now. Now it is the high time to get her involved
into outdoor plays including running and jumping (Special Education Guide., 2019). All the
physical activities are important for the growth of Carlyn’s muscles. Hence, Carlyn
needs guidance so that she can indulge into physical activities (Google Drive., 2019).

IFSP Component: OUTCOMES
1. Write one specific and measurable goal for Carlyn. You are welcome to
identify a prior goal that was already targeted and met (as stated in the video)
AND/OR to identify a prospective goal that targets outcomes considering her
current levels of functioning.

One of the goals that is already atrgeted is to encourage Carlyn to interaact with peers
though indoor plays. As a result Carlyn has started interacting with peers by making
sounds like-“Baba”, “Thatha”. By (02/10/2020), Carlyn will be able to speak 5 full
sentences at an attempt (Special Education Guide., 2019). Further she will be able to
participate in outdoor play and storytelling and drama competitions in preschools (Google
Drive., 2019).

without touching down her other foot to the ground. She will be able to do this in
3/4 trials as measured by the teacher using a checklist to document jumps.
