Introduction:
Immigration to the United Kingdom has emerged out to be one of the most prevalent
trend of the modern times. It should be noted in this context, that according to the recent
statistical findings, it has been estimated that the migration rate of immigrants to UK is much
higher than any other European Nations. The major underlying reason being better life style and
improved employment opportunities. Further, it should also be mentioned that, the rate of
migration has exceeded by almost 300 percent from the year 1975 to 2015 as published by the
official website of the UK government. The first section of the report would talk about the week
6 discussion and answer questions based on understanding the trend of emigrant entry into the
nation. The second, part of the assignment would discuss about globalization and the impact of
‘BREXIT’ on the immigration policy of United Kingdom. Finally the concluding section of the
assignment would be addressed with the help of a power point presentation and also present a
critical reflection on the experience of delivering the presentation.

Part II: Analysing data – Compulsory in-class task (ACSK tutorial, week 6)
Write a handwritten paragraph in your week 6 tutorial class addressing the areas in the box
below. Remember to refer to the graph/chart using correct OSCOLA or Harvard style in-text
citation.
1. A description of your data (What is it? Where does it come from? What area is it

found out the enhancement of migration in UK along with the migrants from the nation to
any other nations.
2. A summary on what the data shows in general.
The data shows that the net migration of EU to UK has got increased by 300 percent within the
span of 50 years that is from 1975 to 2015. While during 1975, the population was as low as
50,000, in the year 2015, it got increased by 390,000.
3. One or two areas of the data looked at in detail and an explanation of why you think they
are significant.
One of the significant points of the graph is the year 1995from when the graph started rising.
This year is significance since this was the period when financial development at UK was at
peak.
4. The important trends and differences/comparisons in the areas you have chosen.
During this period, Industrialization in UK flourished.
Economy of UK stated developing
Income inequality took place between UK and the other nations of EU
5. Possible explanations for what the data is showing (remember to reference wider research
to back your ideas up).-
The UK’s labour market is thought to be a significant draw for migrants from both within the EU
and from non-EU countries. Another reason behind this abrupt rise of migrant is the income
inequality. For low-wage jobs, the UK’s flexible labour market and a policies have played a role
in drawing in workers from the European Union (GOV.UK 2018).

6. A recommendation for further action that could arise from this data.
As a result of this increased migration several issues associated with lack of job opportunities.,
education facilities and homelessness have arrived,. In order to deal with that, the UK
government must establish new rules and regulation for controlling the number of immigrants.
TASK 3
Academic Writing (to be completed in weeks 1-10)
(Word count: 700 words – suggested word counts for each section are outlined below)
Part I: Introduction
Type your introduction in the box below (approx.100-150 words).
The term globalization can be defined as the process of interaction as well as integration
between organizations, companies and government across the world. With the
advancement on technology as well as transportation, globalization has got increased. The
global economy has got highly integrated post world war II and the world has evidenced
both positive as well as negative impact of globalization. The rejection of European Union
by UK can be considered to be one of the negative impacts of globalisation. The result of
the referendum was due to lack of job opportunities and affordable home facilities. The
residents of UK protested against the economic model of EU and voted for Brexit. In this
report, a brief discussion of the impact of Brexit on globalization will be discussed.
Part II: Discussion
Type your discussion part in the box below (approx.400-500 words).
This paragraph will contain detailed analysis of the potential impact of Brexit on
globalization. According to researchers, Brexit can be considered an example of
deglobalization. Various reason are there that provoked the people of UK for supporting
Brexit. Immigration is one off the major reason behind this. According to a survey, more
Document Page
8ACADEMIC SKILLS
than one third of the voters supported Brexit due to the loss of control of the nation over
its immigration and its own borders. Excessive arrival of emigrants was result in lack of
job opportunity as well as homelessness in UK. Inflows of EU nationals migrating to the
UK stood at 268,000 in 2014, up from 201,000 in 2013 where as that of RU were as flat as
61,000per year. High arrival of immigrants had not only imposed impact on the economic
model of the nation but also had brought about several changes in the culture of the
nation. The feeling of being integrated with the EU compared to the other European
citizen was another reason behind the result of referendum.
Since Brexit is considered as a rejection of globalization, the result of the referendum has
the potential to impose negative impact on globalization. Firstly, the share of thee
organizations that are established in UK as well as in EU will fall in the international
share market. Secondly the job possibility as well as security of the immigrants in UK will
get reduced to a great extent. All the trading policies as well as rules and regulation will
undergo a change. This in turn will enhance the investment cost of both the public as well
as private organizations located at UK. Along with the enhancement of investment cost,
change in policies, rules and regulations will also be highly time consuming resulting in los
of yearly revenue of the organizations. Besides that, the trading costs of the European
nations as well as UK will also get enhanced if UK exits from the European Union.
The result of the referendum will also impose impact on the global human resource. The
multicultural institutions in UK will face a major crisis after brexit when it will come to
human resource. Considering the fact that prior to brexit there employees who travel
from UK to other nations of Europe do not require any kinds of visa or registration, the
post brexit travelling will be more troublesome as well as complicated. As a result of this,
majority of the employees will not prefer to travel foe business or official purpose.
Another impact of Brexit on globalization will be complexity in Currency exchange. Due
to the intervention of new currency exchange policies, the product value as well as the
profitability of both UK as well as European Union will also change. This will impose a
highly negative impact on the both UK as well as other nations.
Part III: Conclusion
Type your conclusion in the box below (approx.100-150 words).
From the above discussion it can be concluded that the result of referendum that took
place on 23rd June 2016 will impose adverse effect on globalisation. As a result of the exit,
Uk will gain full control over its immigration rules and regulations as well as its border.
While this will impose beneficial impact on the homelessness and lack of job opportunities

of the country, the nation will offer from fall in share in the global market. Besides that,
several changes in the trade as well as currency policies will enhance the investment costs
of the organizations resulting in decrement in revenue.
