Justification on the topic
For making people aware about the long term consequences of alcohol consumption on
youth is the main reason of selecting this topic. It is known that people who begin drinking at
early stage are more likely experience problems later in their life that affects people surrounding
them. In adolescences several changes occur so, for knowing them about consequences and
negative impacts of alcohol consumption is reason behind conducting this research and selecting
this topic.

INTRODUCTION
The amount young people consume alcohol is increasing rapidly and it is having several
negative impacts on their later life and their family members. The latest NHS information on
consumption of alcohol stated that around 26% of male and 24% of females drink over the
recommended weekly limits. Number of deaths have been recorded due to chronic liver disease
in England because of increasing rate of alcohol consumption in early stage. This research study
will also discuss some reasons of consuming alcohol by young people along with effects of it on
mental health and personality (Jackson and Bartholow, 2020).
Importance of research: Research conducted on the topic of knowing effects of alcohol
consumption on youth can give several positive outcomes. It can help people in knowing about
consequences, changes and all negative impacts that happen when they start consuming alcohol
at early stage. These articles on alcohol consumption summarize the evidence on harms and
benefits for young people and children. It is also found in survey help in England that around 15
children under the age of 17 attend or visit emergency department and require medical assistance
on a daily basis. In England as well, around 35,472 people age group of 16-24 admitted in

hospitals. So, for reducing this rate, protecting people by making them aware about it is aim of

and other effects such as falls, drowning, motor vehicle accidents and others.

Findings

and it was highly predictive. So, it is found that before the age of 16, children are more likely to

is also found that parental alcoholism is the main reason or cause of early stage alcohol
consumption in youth. It is also found that children who start drinking alcohol are more likely to
have their first sexual experience. It affects their performance to the great extent as they get
behind in school work as compared with non-drinkers or moderate drinkers.
RECOMMENDATIONS
There is requirement of discussing all outcomes of this study with the expert panel on
alcohol and their impacts on young people. All authorized departments should cooperate
accurately and appropriately. It can also be recommended to authorized institutes that they
should focus on developing awareness program that can help young people in decreasing alcohol
consumption rate.

It has been summarized from the above study that alcohol consumption in early stage has
several negative impacts. It has discussed all areas of people that get affected when they start
drinking alcohol in young age. Education, profession, physical health, mental health are all some
areas that got affected. It has also discussed reliability of the study and characteristics that shows
its effectiveness. It has also shown some causes and factors that lead to early stage alcohol
consumption such as: changing era, stress, family background, ignorance or isolation in the
society.

health and well-being. Men are more likely to intake alcohol as compared to young women so
over time use of alcohol by younger women has decreased. It has also helps in finding

taking alcohol or drugs at adolescence are more critical ongoing process of brain development
and likelihood of occurring more problem in future circumstances. On the other hand it has also
identified in the article consumption of alcohol at mid and early adolescence is directly
associated with memory problem and other neuropsychological deficits. Furthermore, it has been
identified that it may also lead in abuse disorder therefore adolescents with conduct disorder that
start drinking alcohol at early age are at more risk as compared to others. It has been identified
that adolescence is an age in which there are numerous hormone pattern changes like sex
difference in behaviour appear. There are several behaviour features in adolescence age like

greater peer attraction, reckless behaviour and increased novelty seeking which are mainly due to
maturation changes in nervous system. The author has also examined the way anxiety, stress and
depression will be managed or interacted in these age group as it is characterized as emotionally
stormy period. In this age, around 1/3 of adolescents are suffering from significant depressed
mood and disturbance or feeling miserable so there are sudden changes in their mood. From the
study the author has find out that adolescent are more sensitive to alcohol induced disruption in
spatial memory as compared to others. Moreover, it has been find out adolescents does not
experience the same level of sleeplessness and in-coordination when in-taking alcohol as
compared to adults (Kvamme and et.al., 2018). At last, it can be identified form the above article
that more stress include stress hormones thus interact with mesocorticolimbic brain region
thereby facilitating more alcohol use behaviour.

It has been analysed from the study that because of been engaged in consuming alcohol at
very young age these children and young people can go through impulsive behaviour. They can
lose their abilities to make better decision and also this will impact their health outcome
negatively. They can also be not able to perform their daily life functions. It has also been
evaluated that this can also be linked to them facing several risk factors such as substance abuse.
The development of brain can be affected when the children start drinking at a very young age.
They can also be involved in doing crime and there mental and physical health can also be

CONCLUSION
It has been concluded by conducing above qualitative research that people who start
drinking alcohol are more likely to face problems with alcohol later in their life. It has also
shown that remarkable changes occur in adolescence and it is the reason that puts young people
towards such things. Stress and changes in the brain are main causes of early stage consumption
of alcohol.
