as work schedules across the globe particularly in modern times. In this light, the technology
revolution imposed a rigid working time framework where the advent of the structures resulted
in an extension of working hours beyond daylight (ILO, 2018, pp. 2). Various businesses have
embraced technological revolution and, therefore, affecting the workflow of business
organizations both negatively and positively. In essence, the overall combination of technology,
as well as policy decisions in recent times, has hugely promoted the interdependence of various

How the Changing Forms Of Business and Work Impact on My Current Job/Occupation
Changing forms of work and business enables one to work at any time as well as opening
opportunities or individuals to work anywhere. The overall process of globalization has no doubt
redrawn the global division of labor which is likely to evolve particularly in response to decision
making regarding the location of service delivery and production (ILO, 2018, pp. 2).
Ideally, formal as well as the physical working environment is slowly diminishing especially
with the new production models that are based on the ever-increasing use of contractors as well
as subcontractors. Notably, this means that workers have to routinely move between these
models instead of staying in one place for a prolonged time. Moreover, the application of
information technologies as well as communication has significantly allowed more work to be
done away from fixed or rather collective workplaces.
Changes in work and business tend to offer different preferences that are aligned towards

fulfillment. However, this does not mean that everybody is likely to have or instead except
similar things from work. In case that preference changes with time, then there is a likelihood
that different individuals are going to make different choices regarding the possible trade-offs
between either paid work or even free time, particularly concerning workload or the
responsibilities they are willing to take in workplaces within a given time.

rapid growth of companies such as Uber alongside the rise in recognition of IT people
particularly in connecting as well as coordinating in a somewhat unprecedented way has resulted
to an increase in demand of on-demand economy in recent times. In essence, the change that has
been witnessed in global work settings has dramatically influenced the type of work people
chose to work on in modern times. Notably, this has affected my choice of work where I have
resulted in earning income as an independent contractors rather than being employed
permanently. As part of the alternative to the “gig’’ economy is the rise of a new type of personal
services such as food delivery as well as transportations are made accessible through the use of
modern technology such as smartphones.
It is essential to keep the entire concurrent social changes especially while considering
the role that is played by the information technologies in the changing nature of work. It is
evident that the overall demographics of the United States population tend to undergo a
significant shift where it has been anticipated that there will not be either ethnic or somewhat
racial majority by the year 2050. In this light, the demographics of the working population are as
well changing. Consequently, women are making up close to half of the overall labor force in the
modern market. Notably, social, racial as well as political backgrounds have hugely been

Furthermore, there has been an apparent change in the employment relationship due to

control their workers effectively through the use of modern technology as well as outsourcing
activities which can be performed cheaply have led to the reduction of attractive labors in the
society (ILO,2018, pp. 2. Moreover, companies have been in a position to trace every movement
of their workers daily have increased the productivity of these organizations.
The changing global work and business structure have facilitated the need for more
education and job training in modern times. Consequently, various employers have taken upon
themselves to team up with training organizations to come up with online educational training
programs in specific areas that are likely to move up employees on their careers. Primarily, the
need for more educational training that meets the demands of many employers has triggered the
urge of many people to undertake various training course towards strengthening their careers.
Notably, employers have as well facilitated this by making sure that they partner with training
institution to provide online training courses to people across the globe with the aim of moving
their employees up to the path of their careers.
Choices and Decisions to Be Taken To Improve the Likelihood of Finding a Stable
Job/Employment
The transition from school to further study to improve my chance of securing a good and
stable job, it is essential to focus on higher education once I complete my university level (ILO,
2018, pp. 2. Notably, high-quality, as well as guidance, is necessary for making informed
decisions on the courses to take once one completes secondary school. Essentially, higher
education and training is an important aspect when securing a stable job or rather employment.
As part of obtaining permanent employment, I will make sure I chose the right course and

sure that I have acquainted myself with the relevant skills needed in different sectors. This
involves taking courses in computer science related courses. It is important for job seekers to
understand the required skills in the market particularly of different sectors. Additionally, it is
important to know when the job vacancies are open and the relevant career paths that are open
for a certain job (ILO, 2018, pp. 2. Due to the restructuring of the market system and global
work, it is important to undertake relevant courses that are intended to help an individual
improve on service delivery in modern times.
