Neo-liberalism is a term which is used for distinct social & economic idea and it is used
by a group of liberals who helped shape social market economy. It tends towards free market
capitalism & away from government regulation, spending and public ownership. As Neo-
liberalism is emphasis to liberal the rules, regulations and support to the economic freedom as
well as free market. As the main of this project is to analyse the impact of neo-liberalism on the
community. In this regard it more focuses about the child protection in Australia and it has

of the nation so it is important to emphasis for their welfare as well as for the development also.
As the child labour rate is increasing because those people who does not earn more money and
below the poverty line they send their children's for work for the purpose of livelihood. As it has
been analysed that there are distinct community & welfare centres which work for the
development of child protection. But there is negative influence over child protection because
private firm are exploiting the rights of children's as because they pay less wages to the
children's. As neo-liberalism has emphasis towards child protection but due to it economic
development of nation can be affect because children's are engaged in productive work and
contribute in the production process which leads to the economic growth and development of
Australia. If they stop doing work than productivity and economic growth will be influence but
in future there are lots of scope is available (Craig 2016). As because when child become
educated and have sufficient knowledge than it will perform the work in more effective manner

and contribute towards the economic development of the nation. When an individual become
educated and then it can establish a new venture which generate more revenue and enhance the
employment opportunities in the country so that more number of will get benefit because per
capital income will increase and rate of employed person will increase in the country. So for the
future prospective it will be beneficial for the country.
Role of neo-liberalism in child protection
As neo-liberalism has focuses to minimize the regulations of government and promote
the private enterprise to work freely without more restriction (Güzey, 2014). As neo-liberalism
has emphasis to promote public goods such as education & child development associated
services via private medium. In this regard it can be said that inequality in economy is
increasing, health issues because of poverty and unemployment. In the development of child
protection, neo-liberalism is contributing despite of it has increase inequality among ethnic &
income group. As due to the privatisation, the health and child education is increasing and it is
also emphasis towards social welfare of society. Due to the changes in institutions and structural
economies under non-liberal regime proves the disadvantages because issues related to child
protection is increasing because inequality is increasing among the society and apart from this
exploitation and discrimination is also increasing within the society (Burrows, 2013). As from
the finding in context to the volunteering conferred that neo-liberalism has influence the society.
It is important to provide freedom in trade so that private corporation can expand its business and
it is also beneficial for the economic growth of nation and with the help of this gross domestic
product within the nation will also increase. To protect the right of children's are important
because they are the future of new generation and put their maximum contribution for the growth
and welfare of society as well as country. Due to the unemployment children are forced to work
so that they can get bread and butter in order to sustain in the life. If people are not employed
than poverty will increase and individuals can not arrange their basic needs such as: food,
shelter, clothes, medical, education etc. In this regard it is important to resolve this problem so
that child protection can be possible. For that purpose there are various plans and policies has
been introduced by the government which restrict the child labour for the purpose of their
protection and development. Neo-liberalism is related to the set of regulations which are
introduced in 1980s by IMF, World Bank & US Treasury Department. As the essential factor of
neo-liberalism is associated with the retrenchment of goodness related to state, that is analysed as

deterrent to effective functioning of markets. To collect the relevant information, there are

make development of children's but it also maximize the inequality among people of society by
making differentiation in context to the ethical & income group. Due to it various problems has
been arises such as: poverty, health issue, unemployment etc. It does not make positive influence
in context to the children protection because it develops the economic inequality in context to the
human community and due to it there are many problems has been arises as because the health
and educational services are improving but due to it children does not get better services for their
development because they does not have enough funds to take the facilities (Corry, 2014).

As from the above report, it has been concluded that neo-liberalism can impact the
community and in this regard it is important to make effective steps for the benefit of child
protection. For that purpose it is require to give freedom to the private sectors so that they can
work for the development of children's and can deliver effective human services. As the
government has to take effective steps for the growth of community and their welfare but it is not
easy to make control it as because it increase the inequity among people of society and its
people. To protect the right of children's are important because they are the future of new
generation.
