1IMPACT OF CONSULTANTS ON NATIONAL MILITARY ORGANIZATION
Introduction
Usually, there are two parts of system theory. One of them is an open system, and the
other one is the closed system (Rice, 2013). In this case, the intervention of consultants in the
national military organization was in respect to the perspective of an open system.
Open systems are those systems where the organizations are robustly affected by its
environment. The organization connect with their environment to meet their objective with
the help of exchanging data, materials and energy (Luhmann, Baecker & Gilgen, 2013). In
this way, they can achieve growth. Organizations usually are complex in nature, which means
that they differ in various aspects such as people, control over management, design, human
capital and culture. However, the environment supports the organizations' success and
existence, but sometimes the productivity of the organization influences the environment.
Hence, the growth and the existence of the institution are influenced by the behavior of an
employee in terms of adapting to environmental changes.
Problem caused due to consultants interference
In the case of the National Military Organizations, from the perspective of the open
system, the two things have been briefly mentioned:
Consultants suggested inputs or surrounding environment helps in redesigning the
complete process of the requisition.
Due to the interference of surrounding environment, there were outcomes such as
higher turnover rate of employees, lower productivity as well as other unfavorable
effects.
Reasons behind the problems
The probable reason for the negative effect from the viewpoint of the open system
was that the changes not only affected the supply requirements of the organization but also
influenced other units, which could not be altered with the new system. Hence, management
should take care of suggestions that are associated with the supply requirements before
adapting to any changes. The needs of the staffs of the organization and their concerns may
not have been taken into account by the consultants while remodeling, which resulted in the
above-mentioned adverse effects. The staffs might get adjusted to the immense environment
changes if there concerns as well as needs were taken into consideration. Proper information
of the changes was not provided to the shareholders, and as a result, they could not increase

the efficiency as well as the required economic supply (Botha, Kourie & Snyman, 2014).
Military leaders should be able to go against the new changes incorporated by the
consultants. However, they should be able to improvise their skills as well as the
commitments to accept alternative modifications.
Recommendation in order to avoid the problems
The new changes improvised by the consultants can result in success if a few things
can be taken into consideration. The staffs present in the National Military Organization who
got affected due to the changes should be well informed about the changes from beforehand.
Other than accepting the suggestions of the consultants, they should have the provision of
providing inputs as well as giving a recommendation. As a result, the problem regarding
higher employee turnover, other unfavorable effects and lower productivity problem will be
reduced (Perlow and Kelly, 2014). If the staff’s confusions regarding the new changes in the
system and their suggestions are taken into account, then the staff of the organization can
accept the changes positively.
