INTRODUCTION
Academic skill is defined as collection of study habits, time management, learning
strategies, and planning that use by students to learn and absorb school lessons. Skill set is the
ability which found in any individual for the purpose of managing a particular task (Castellano
and Park, 2020). Good study skills can increase the confidence, self esteem, and competence by
supporting the learning. The present report is based on Impact of Covid-19 on employee working
from home. The chosen organisation is Sainsbury that is large supermarket running their
business continuously. This learning will develop the knowledge about how Pandemic is
affecting the business and how the employees are working. All the collected data in relation to
current research is gathered from primary and secondary resources. The report will cover the
different approaches for gathering information and recommendation.

Rationale
The main object of this project to identify the impact of Covid-19 which is running in
current environment and affecting the health of people. This Pandemic has occurred various
challenges for individual and businesses as their productivity and performance is reduced
continuously. In this situation all businesses are require to followed the WHO and government
regulation where employees are managing work from their homes. The pandemic has impacted
negatively on all businesses as employees are not getting proper working environment, lack of
connectivity, slow internet, no discussion and others due to which business get hampered. The

main reason of conducting research is to develop the knowledge about how to improve the
performance while working from home and be safe from this pandemic.
LITERATURE REVIEW
The impacts of Covid-19 on employees
According to (Vanegas (2019), In current environment, whole world is facing the
problem of Covid-19 that is serious issue affecting the health of human being and increasing the
death cases. People feels fear from going to outside and working at any where. This is important
for individual to take the precaution and follow the safety measure which are formulated by
government to provide the safety to the people. WHO is continuously monitoring and responding
to this pandemic where it affects jobs and people worldwide. Government is playing the
important role who formulated regulation for businesses to stopped their business or allow the
employees to work from home. This is typical situation for all working staff as different types of
problem might be face while working at home. Covid-19 has impacted negatively as violence
against women, domestic violence, economic shocks, health care workers, problem in reading,
migration. The situation of business environment became more serious and people are leaving
the houses and increasing conflicts between employees. This is important for each people to be
aware about this pandemic and bring the changes in their lives that can help to provide the safety.
In this Pandemic workers are not allowed to work at the workplace as while working they
gathered to discuss and sharing the ideas which can be dangerous for them. Therefore,
government has declared that businesses will be closed due to lock down wherein, only those
businesses will continue who provide the facility of work from home. This is a working
situation in which employees does not need to go at workplace or offices to work as they can
work from their homes.
Due to Pandemic many people have lost their job that impacted on their personal life as
they does not filling their needs and wants due to money. Currently, people feels fear due to
spreading virus as it is dangerous for them. WHO is planning to provide the vaccine but it is not
giving any surety to people that will be safe (Walton, O'Kane and Ruwhiu, 2020).
The challenges which faced by Sainsbury's employees during work from home.
According to Siripurapu (2020), Covid-19 is the serious situation that is facing by whole
of the world as their business is being affected along with health of people. Different types of
challenges are facing by people as job security, health issues, lack of productivity and

profitability at the workplace. The WHO declared that people need to be very aware about their
health should take precautions that can help to keep safe and healthy. Due to Covid-19,
employees are allowed to work from home by understanding their roles and responsibilities that
create the many problems in their working. As employees are not getting proper working
environment where they feel more disturbance and issues of business. This affects the working
of business and reduce the operational activities. All workings of an organisation is not possible
to handle by home working such as sales, marketing, production, and others that require market
or proper workplace to do the workings. This is important for management of Sainsbury to
understand the problems of employees and provide them optimum solution which can help to
make feel them good. The management of employees is operate their business at the workplace
by taking all preventive measure, sanitization station, provide PPT kit, wearing mask, using
gloves, and healthy food that can help to keep them safe.
The employees working from home face the problem of improper communication, lack
of connectivity and lack of working environment where management should formulate the
planning which can help to promote the working and managing all activities effectively
(Obradovitz, 2020). For each organisation it is important that focus on employee's health and
provide them proper treatment and isolation if needed that can help to arrange the workings by
making feel good.
Data collection
The above discussed literature is collected by researcher from primary resources such as
questionnaire and quantitative approach which helped to know about current situation and
problems pertaining at the workplace due to Pandemic. The primary data is collected from the
first hand resources that can help to collect the relevant and reliable data in relation to particular
topic. This area developed the knowledge in particular field and supported to employees who
works from home.
CONCLUSION
From the report it can be concluded that academic skills is the collection of learning
habits, strategies, and time management which is important to handle the task. Academic skills is
connected with learning where an individual recognise its problem and learn from others or
observation that can help to develop the understanding and managing the particular task. Covid-
19 is the disease which occurred globally and affected the businesses and its activities. In this,

there is fear of spreading of virus so employees are allowed to work from home and complete
their workings. During this, different types of challenge are facing by such employees as it
becoming difficult for them to handle all working from their homes as it affects the productivity
negatively.
