INTRODUCTION
Globalisation is the important concept and term that refers to growing interdependence of
global economy, populations and cultures, trade in services and goods in cross border, flows of
information, investment and people. For developing countries, globalisation is very necessary for
development and transformation in developed nations. Globalisation is directly get affected by
dynamic nature of business environment. Because it includes all activities that directly
influencing in each and every section of economy. Small or big changes get directly affect
globalisation in economy. One of the most emerging and drastic change that covers almost all
countries is COVID-19. It is the communicable disease that has high intensity to transform one
person to another person (Free and Hecimovic, 2020). This disease takes pandemic situation that
started from China affects all over nation whether it is developed or developing. This report
covers the impact of COVID-19 on globalisation that cover the mainly two sectors that are
educational and health sector.
MAIN BODY
Impact of COVID-19.
The two main global effect of the COVID-19 on the world economy is considered to be
on the health care sector and on education sector. The aim of education sector is to provide equal
education to each individual without any discrimination. The education sector is comprise of
group of institute which are focused towards the enhancement of the knowledge and skills of
individual. The aim of health sector is to maintain the proper health of individual by ensuring
effective prevention from diseases, illness. This sector comprises of health institutes who work
as a team in order deliver health services with the help of health professionals.
Impact of COVID-19 on Education Sector.
The pandemic breakdown has affected the global economy in a worst way. Sue to this
pandemic the government have ordered the closure of educational institutes till the recovery of
this situation. This impacted the academic integrity of the students due to rise in academic file
sharing, contract learning and exam cheating. These problematic factors have raised questions on
the students and teachers regarding their academic knowledge (Niewiadomski, 2020). The
pandemic have increase the lack of interaction between students and teachers dues to which the

students tends to feel less passionate towards their studies and career. Also, the students leave
half completed assignments or just gets the notes from their friends due to this pandemic. School
closures have raised many socio-economic issues which are affecting the mental health of the
students. According to UNICEF, the COVID-19 affected 91% students across the globe by
effecting their academic position due to temporary closure of the school institutions. In relation
to this, online learning have become the lifeline of the education institutes. As this aims at
reducing the transmission among the various community groups. Technology have helped the
teachers in connecting with students to make them access of the textbooks which will bridge the
time gap in their education. But, due to unequal technology access in remote areas this have
created an obstacle for the students in online learning.
There is an lack of limitation copyrights over the educational resources for the students.
But in relation to this several initiatives have been taken by the government to provide the grants
to students for the educational resources without tampering with the copyrights (Seric and
Winkler, 2020). This situation have enhanced the international mobility of students through the
medium of technology and internet. The students gets connected with each other and share their
knowledge and education resources in the form of documents. But this has severely impacted the
students who have opted for abroad study as their aim of exposure of international markets was
at risk. Teachers are also preparing themselves for the digital learning and due to this they have
enhanced their abilities and skills by promoting education to the backward section of the society
also (Sigler, Mahmuda and Corcoran, 2020). This pandemic have also impacted the vocational
education programs and made impossible to continue it in near future due to social distancing.
Now if the the government wants to reopen the school the major issue that comes in their way is
the class parameter size. Due to this pandemic the need for social distancing have arisen. So the
government and educational authorities must take preventive measures in order to tackle this
situation effectively.
Impact of COVID-19 on health sector.
The health sector have been impacted due to this pandemic crisis. It has emerged large
scale challenges for the citizens across worldwide. The government resources are being shifted
towards the non-communicable, chronic diseases. Continuous rising of the medical patients have
generated the demand for medical ventilators. Also, many companies have increased their

production capacity for the medical equipments by 60% compared to their previous production.
Also, digital health check-ups have taken a front seat during this COVID-19 (van Barneveld,
Quinlan and Friel, 2020). Many healthcare professional are giving suggestions and consultations
through videoconferencing and phone calls. This have resulted in decrease in the growth of the
patients amid this pandemic. This health care sector investment have also been rise to 5%
approximately. The situation have generated a need to allocate the medical resources effectively
in order to fight back with this situation.
The introduction of vaccine have also raised questions on the effectiveness of health
vaccines as the success rate of the medicine for this virus is very less. Also, during this critical
situation there is an need arises for the mask, gloves and sanitiser for the workers in order to
protect them from themselves. Due to this many patients who are suffering from serious diseases
are being ignored. As the focus of health officials are shifted towards the covid patients. This
pandemic have reflected the importance of hospital with effective facilities. This has also
impacted the profitability on the imports of the medical devices like capital equipments and
disposables from china. Also, violence against doctors have increased amid lock-down.
Telehealth also played a crucial role as many industries have decided to launch new product in
this field. The pandemic have also created pregnant women to visit their doctors but opted for
telemedicine. The pandemic have triggered the manufacturers to collaborate with auto-makers in
order to enhance the production capacity for the medical ventilators to meet the rising demand
(Yaya, Otu and Labonté, 2020). In the meanwhile, GE Healthcare and Ford Motors have entered
into strategic partnership to fight this situation. According to this the Ford Motors will provide
their production capacities and the GE healthcare will will collaborate their clinical expertise
towards the production of licensed ventilators from Airon Corporations. The pandemic situation
have affected the mental health of the individuals due to which they can not get over this disease
even after the normal situation due to the panic previously occurred.
Reflection
From the brief discussion of globalisation and COVID-19 I found many sectors are get
affected due to this pandemic disease. Sectors that affected by COVID-19 are health, education,
forest, public service, transport, automotive, FMCG, etc. Actually I found that from the research
and findings that COVID-19 get affected to each and every sector whether it is small or large. I

analysed that COVID-19 give their affect in urban and rural sector in which each small industry
get affected. It gives a very great impact on globalisation. Due to this pandemic situation many
countries' government get stop international flights after the announcement of WHO on 12
January 2020 that it is that novel coronavirus and becomes in pandemic situation. Due to stop
international flights, airline get mostly effected area at that time because they contribute a good
contribution in economy. In China lock-down announced from last of January, because it is the
starting point of spreading of this virus. Because of flights were still going on this virus get
affected in all countries.
Most affected countries due to COVID-19 are China, UK, US, Brazil, Peru, Russia, etc.
These countries are almost developed nations that give their great contribution in global
economy. I found that globalisation is get affected due to spreading of this virus. I found some
facts and figures from WHO related to COVID-19 cases i.e. confirmed cases are 75,704,857 that
include death cases are 1,690,061. I found that many countries take a immediate corrective
action for stopping the propagation of this harmful virus. I analysed that effected sector are
educational and health care sectors. I found that COVID-19 not only affect on physical health of
individual person but also affect on mental health. Because it is very obvious that to stop
prorogation of virus all health care sectors give their all efforts such as they make separate rooms
for affected patients. It helps to stop the spreading of virus from one person to another. But it
directly affects on mental health because for recovering from this disease the person should stay
15-20 days in separate room that creates mental illness. It increase the expenditure in health care
sector due to demand of masks, protection kit, etc. I found that it directly rise the cost of
healthcare sectors by 5.5% in US-dollar terms in 2021.
I analysed that most affected sector from COVID-19 is education sector because all
schools, colleges and universities are close for stooping the spreading of this virus. I found that
UNESCO recommended that schools and colleges study can be started with distance learning
through online portal. It converts formal education into informal education because of social
distancing that helps to reduce cases of COVID-19. Due to close of school and colleges students
education get affected and become worst situation for students. It is the situation that directly
affects education sector because it incurs the cost of digital support to students. I found that some
countries make separate funds from educational fund for digital support to students so that they
can attend the classes and lectures. Due to this pandemic situation public finance of education

sector is transferred to health and care sector that reduce the effectiveness study for students.
Finally, I analysed that both sector get severely affected from pandemic situation and
government take measure to control them by 2020.
CONCLUSION
It is concluded after the brief analysis of globalisation and impact of COVID-19 that
there are many sectors that get affected. Most affected sectors from coronavirus are education
and health care sectors. This virus back the countries GDP by ten years. It becomes very difficult
for nations to overcome with the affect of COVID-19. Because the nations face many challenges
and problems due to this issue. It is analysed that government of nations tried to improve things
with corrective actions.
