Aim
The main aim of this research is “To study the impact of COVID 19 on the performance and
productivity of hospitality firm. A case study on Marriot International Hotel.”
Objectives
 To understand the impact of COVID 19 on hospitality sector.
 To examine the influence of COVID 19 on the performance and productivity of Marriot
International Hotel.
 To determine the challenges which faced by Marriot International Hotel due to COVID

Methodology
Research approach
It is a belief about the processes for analysing, gathering, and using knowledge about a specific
issue. It has been determined that research philosophy is based on assumptions about nature and
knowledge sources. Researchers interpret elements of study through which human interest is
integrated into the study under this research philosophy (Ebeke and et. al., 2021). Interpretivism
research focuses on meaning and employs a variety of methodologies to reflect various facets of
the problem. A theory which is generated from various propositions of a number of theories can
easily explain a deductive approach. To put it another way, this approach is primarily concerned
with drawing conclusions from the many premises and propositions accessible.
Research design
It outlined the overarching strategy that was developed to integrate the various components in a
logical and consistent manner. Furthermore, it must ensure that the research subject is addressed
using factual approaches. The descriptive Research Design is considered to be the most
important reason for choosing the Research Design in this study since it aids the researcher in
acquiring in-depth knowledge about the issue, resulting in accurate and relevant results.

Research methods
It is defined as a research method that is used to obtain a beneficial outcome in a timely and
efficient manner. Qualitative research is a type of exploratory research that is done to learn more
about people's thoughts and motivations. Focus groups, observation, and group discussion are
examples of qualitative methods. Furthermore, a quantitative approach is employed to quantify
the problem by creating numerical data that can be translated into meaningful statistics (Goshu
and et. al., 2020). In comparison to other research methodologies, it has been proven that this
strategy produces more accurate data. Systematic observations, online surveys, face-to-face
interviews, online polls, and other quantitative data collection methods are examples. In order to
achieve a beneficial outcome and draw valid conclusions in a timely manner, the current study
employs both qualitative and quantitative data collection methods.
Participants
Sampling is a technique for calculating the number of observations obtained from a large number
of individuals. This method is effective for extracting a sample from a vast population that
requires precise analysis. It has been determined that proper incentive management has a
favourable influence on staff productivity and motivation using this approach with a sample size
of 30 employees.
Validity and reliability
The overall performance of the test apparatus, which is the examination questionnaire, supports
the reliability of the examination. This was piloted with a large number of potential
representatives to ensure that the questionnaire’s sympathetic was reliable across a wide range of
respondents. In the mission of modern studies, questions are closed ended, and the validity of the
survey is accepted as a result of this method, because the bottom line of the replies is the
respondents’ opinions (Katare, Marshall and Valdivia, 2021). In addition, in order to complete
the research and meet the study’s objectives, the survey employs sophisticated research
methodologies and data collection technologies that aid in meeting the study’s objectives and
engaging in research in a more advanced manner.
Data analysis
The method of efficiently changing and introspecting data with the goal of reaching an
appropriate collection of study objectives is known as data analysis. The most crucial reason to

conduct a literature review is to check that the data and study findings are correct. Because there
has been thematic analysis, which is important for the study and data identification, the
researcher analyses quantitative collection data for the questionnaire.
Ethical considerations
Respect for the autonomy, privacy and dignity of individuals and communities
Personal privacy must be maintained and investigators shall ensure that they are not identifiable
personally unless exceptional conditions exist and with specific, unequivocal information only.
Investigators must prevent unfair, harmful or partial practises such as collecting samples or
studying materials (Hussain and et. al., 2021). Although the respondents are apathetic about the
possibilities of an infringement of privacy, they must be persuaded of the anonymity and non-
connectivity of any information or data they receive. As a consequence of responsible and
excellent researchers, people's rights will remain to ever be safeguarded.
Scientific integrity
As a collection of recommended standards and appropriate practises across science fields, a
Scientific Integrity Agenda has been developed to assist scientists achieve agreement upon or
effectively equip scientific integrity criteria to operate under rapidly changing environments.
Integrity of study is active commitment to the morals and ethical guidelines necessary for ethical
educational research (Ali and Anwar, 2021). It is important to clarify as clearly as possible the
research goals while everyone knows whatever the analysis seeks to do.
Social responsibility
Social responsibility for researchers has to be felt since it compels them to examine their study's
anticipated societal repercussions, particularly when such consequences threaten the security,
health or interests of the community. The social duties of researchers, however, go far beyond
the fundamental norms of society (Nyawa, 2020). For instance, scientists are not supervised, and
experiments are permitted to take place accordingly. In addition, the specific know-how of
researchers derived from their investigations, education and skills allows them to identify the
limits of science and if it is misused or even abused. Researchers have a duty to protect their
work from unauthorised usage.

Maximising benefit and minimising harm
Investigators do not have an obligation to make their study subjects harmless, which means that
they must not harm them. It is also up to him or her to guarantee that only fully qualified
researchers conduct hazardous research. Researchers must show that they do so to solve the
damage risk issue by taking suitable actions (Taşel, 2020). This would include identifying
possible risks, assessing their probability, analysing the threat to assess their acceptance in
relation to the aims of the research and, ultimately, mitigating the effects that lead to measures to
minimise such elements.
