INTRODUCTION
In UK, there are different types of businesses which are operating their business by
managing all functions and influencing number of customers. The aim of business industry is to
attain the higher performance by offering better quality of products and services. It has seen that
environment is changing where it became important to identify the market and introduce the
products accordingly that can help to accomplish the business goals (Amankwah-Amoah, Khan,
and Wood, 2021). Covid-19 has occurred in whole business which has impacted all businesses
and their productivity. The retail sector is also affected negatively due to Covid period as
reduction in sales and performance. It became important for organization to implement strategic
planning and activities which can be used to resolve issues and maintain higher performance. To
understand the impacts of central issue Tesco has been taken that faced the problem of lower
sales and profitability due to pandemic period. The report involve methodological process to
expand the insights and knowledge effectively.

As per view point of Shanafelt, Ripp, and Trockel (2020), The environment is changing
such as Covid-19 occurred in whole world which has been affected the business industries
negatively. The business activities and functions of retail sector has been reduced that created
challenge to regulate their business continuously. In context to Tesco, management has faced the
challenge of lower sales, lower profitability, increasing employee turnover, and lack of skills and

abilities to perform all functions. This is important for each organization to analysis and
understand the environment and make the use of new technology which can help to reach the
targeted customers and supports to develop the organizational performance.
To determine the different ways can be used by Tesco to improve organizational productivity.
As per opinion of Oksanen (2020), To operate a business successfully there is need to
have focus over changing environment as it bring changes in existing performance and supports
to complete the performance. In developing the business sales Tesco has to adopt new
technology and corporate strategy which can help to introduce the products and services via
online method. This helps to save from contacts and supports to increase organizational sales as
well as productivity. The management of chosen industry would analysis the environment and
ensure their customers that organization is providing better quality of products and services at
effective prices that can help to improve the organizational productivity and profitability.
RESEARCH METHODOLOGY
Research Philosophy – This determined as set of business and research standard which
are followed by an individual for the purpose of collecting data and information. This mainly
involves positivism and interpretivism philosophy. In relation to current research, interpretivism
philosophy is being used by researcher in order to collect data (onnelly, 2020).
Research Approach - This can be explained as planning used to formulate the
regulations for the purpose of collecting data on a specific topic. This involves inductive and
deductive approach uses to collect data. In relation to current research inductive approach has
been used by researcher to complete their study.
Research Strategy – The strategy is determined as planning and procedure uses by
individual for acknowledging knowledge and skills that supports to develop the business
performance. This consider experiment, survey, interview, and case study as strategy. The
researcher has decided to use experiment method as research which can help to develop
understandings (Charteris, Smardon, and Kemmis, 2021).
Choices of methods – The layers explains method of conducting research by bringing
new functions and activities as it supports to accomplish the business goals. This consider mono,
mixed, and multi method to conduct the research. In relation to current research, mono method is
being used by researcher that can help to know how changing in climate affect the business
performance which affected productivity negatively.

to collect the information on singular topic and managing all data properly. This also helps to
introduce the products and services accordingly.
