Introduction
Tourism is a ways of entertainment that has affected various condition of the
environment as well as the government. One of the most significant business that has helped
in the improvement of the economic condition of a country (Richards, 2018). With tourism
there has been significant changes observed in the environment. Several changes have been
brought to develop sustainable tourism. The paper will help to understand the impact of
tourist on cultural tourism and environment.
Impact of cultural tourism on tourist
Cultural tourism is the tourism, which is one of the most common tourism that takes
place in urban areas ( Cetin & Bilgihan, 2016 ). One of the most common cultural tourism
that takes place is to India, India is considered to be one of the most cultural country with full
of colours. It has been identified that most of the time the people of Canada visit India to
explore the variety of cultures. The Indians who have settled in Canada, as the number of
Indians settled in Canada is large, influence Canadians. Hence, when the Indians visit
Canada, the Canadian is influenced by the culture that they possess in them. People like to
witness various kinds of culture that makes them experience cultural tourism. The people is
mesmerised with the beauty of the cultural places ( Matzler et al., 2016 ). The beauty of unity
and diversity of culture makes the tourists urge for cultural tourism. For instance, people visit
Thailand to witness the beauty of various culture and the ethnic foods that is the culture of the
country. Thus, the beauty of a place and its culture make people eager to visit the place.

the countries to manage sustainability. Hence, educating the tourists about sustainable
tourism will help in the lifting of the condition of the tourist places decreasing the
environmental pollution. There can be initiatives taken up by the government as well as the
tourist that will help in the development of sustainable tourism. For instance, less use of
plastic made materials like bottles, plastic bags, plates or daily necessity and replacement of
plastic products with biodegradable products like plates made of leaves or bamboo spoons
will help in the reduction of pollution of the place. The duty of the tourist as well to take up
activities that will help in the sustainable development (García-Hernández, Calle-Vaquero, &
Yubero, 2017). Sustainable tourism can be also taken up by hotel industry that will help
reduce pollution of a place. Hence, these few activities will help in the development of
sustainable development.
Impact of tourism on the environment
Woosnam & Aleshinloye (2018), in their paper argued that in the deterioration of
environment tourism is not only the factor that is responsible. Various factors have led to the
environmental pollution whereas tourism is one of the major factors said Cetin & Bilgihan
(2016), in their paper. Cetin (2016) said that increase in the pollution of oceans is the prime
reason of tourism. The use of plastics and chemicals in beach is leading to the death of
several aquatic animals. Use of excessive plastic made products lead to the pollution in
oceans. Moreover, people have been littering though the beaches creating pollution. The use
of sunscreen has become a trend for tourist in sea beaches. The chemical used in sunscreen
creates fatal diseases on numerous aquatic animals (Richards, 2018). However, initiatives
taken by tourists to stop pollution can help in the improvement of the condition of the tourist
areas. Not only in sea beaches but also in hilly areas people tend to through wastes in pits that
may be a habitation of several lives. Hence, government alone cannot help in the

development of the condition of the environment unless the people are interested to improve
the condition of the environment.

environment. The environment due to tourism is facing several impacts. The duty of the
government as well as the tourist to find options that will help in meeting the development of
the condition of the environment.
