The project employs both primary and secondary research methods, utilizing surveys and literature reviews to gather information and qualitative techniques for data analysis. Background of study
Domestic abuse is known as the type of controlling, threatening, bullying, or violent behavior
which is between people in a relationship. The domestic violence covers physical, financial,
sexual, psychological and emotional abuse (Fox and et.al., 2014). The present study is based on
domestic abuse from which children are suffering and its impact on them.
Aims

Objectives
 To identify different types of domestic abuse suffered by children in the UK
 To analyse impact of domestic abuse on children in the UK
 To recommend strategies for tackling the issue of domestic abuse and its impact on
children in the UK.
Rationale for selection
Domestic abuse on children has grown rapidly since from last three years. It can seriously
harm children physically or mentally. Further there is increasing cognizance of children's
experience of domestic abuse. It becomes difficult to identify at what extend children suffer from
abuse. Therefore, because of this reason the present study is conducted in respect to determine
impact of child abuse and way to overcome this problem.
Literature review
According to the view of Bradbury‐Jones and et.al., (2014) child abuse and domestic
violence it not new problem in modern era. There are different types of domestic abuse from
which children suffered which includes sexual abuse, emotional abuse, physical abuse,
threatening to kill or harm children's etc. Further one of pessimistic aspects of family life lead to
give emergence to domestic violence on children. Emotional abuse is known as psychological
abuse which is stated as one of the most common form of child abuse. In families some people
not see the child as a separate person and they only fulfill their own needs instead of children's.
There are different sign of emotionally abuse children such as they most of the time feel
unhappy, behave aggressively etc.

As per the view of Holt, (2015), different types of domestic abuse directly and indirectly
impact the quality life of children. There are some physical symptoms which are show in
children of domestic abuse such as ill health and stress. For example, the may developed eczema,
fear, suffer from sleeping disturbance. Along with this there are few children's who suffer from
physical injuries which may result of direct and indirect.
Research Methodology
Research methodology assist in completing entire research in appropriate manner. In
present study, interpretivism philosophy will be used for further investigation. Further both
primary and secondary research will be conducted for collecting the information. In primary
research information will be gather through survey while secondary information will be collected
through books and journals (Mackey and Gass, 2015). Apart from this for analyzing the collected
data qualitative techniques will be used under which thematic perception will be used for
interpreting the information.

Summary
Effects of domestic violence on children is known as the result from witnessing domestic
violence in a home. Children who suffered from domestic violence. Further children who
witness from domestic violence in the home mainly suffer from some physical symptom that is
emotional and behavioral state of children is despair (Blair and Maddoux, 2015). They face
basically problem of headaches and stomach aches. The present study is based on impact of
domestic abuse on children's which is observed at the time of interaction with them. For instance,
behavioral, emotional and social areas of life which can aid in early involvement and assistance
for child victims.
Literature review
Different types of domestic abuse suffered by children in the UK.
According to the view of Peckover and Golding, (2017) Domestic violence is known as a pattern
of powerful tactics which consider, economic, physical, emotional and economic abuse commit

by one person against children. Physical abuse includes the use of physical force for hurting
others. For instance grabbing hitting, shaking or assault with a weapon. Sometime, care taker or
parents get aggressive and started beating or abuse children for any reason or without reason.
Physical abuse can be or cannot be result in an injury which required medical treatments.
Further, psychosocial abuse is known as threats of harm or bullying, and threats of harm. On the
other hand emotional abuse is known as the ongoing emotional maltreatment of a child which is
sometime called as psychological abuse and it can impact the emotional health of child and its
development. Mainly children who are suffering from emotionally abused faced some another
type of violence or neglect. As per the view of Peckover and Golding, (2017), there are some
physical symptoms of emotional abuse that is neglect which can be noticed in a child's action or
emotions. Emotional abuse consider blaming a child without knowing truth, threatening,
humiliating a child, or forcing them not have friends etc. Further physical abuse includes
deliberately hurting a child causing injuries that is bruises, burns, cut etc. Children who are
physically abused is not accidental as because they are being, burned, slapped, hit or anything
thrown on them. For instance sometimes parents or care taker find symptoms of illness in their
child but they do not provide them treatment this comes under physical abuse. There are is not
excuses for physically abusing a child because it may cause harm to children which can affect
their whole life. Some of the phsycial abused taken place because of neglectful parents or stress
in the family environment.
Impact of domestic abuse on children in the UK
According to the view of Blair and Maddoux, 2015, there are some negative impact of
domestic abuse on children. Due to this problem they are unable to enjoy their life and live fear
free life. There are some symptoms of physical abuse that is changes take place in children in its
behaviour and or school performance. They leaves home early and going home late. Further fear
can be noticed when they are approached by adults. As per the view of Humphreys and
Bradbury‐Jones, (2015) there are also some effects of emotional child abuse. A child who are
emotionally abused live in continuous fear and they do not take proper or less meal. They suffer
from different vulnerable to diseases and health complication. Further this emotional abuse can
negatively impact the health of child because it can hold back child mental development. Along
with this intelligence and memorable development can also impacted which results in mental
disorders.

Methodology
Research approach: It is one of the best strategy which assist to carry out entire research in
appropriate manner. In this report inductive approach is used by the scholar because it assists in
gathering more specific information.
Research philosophy: In research philosophy it is related with belief and value of research
regarding the topic (Smith, 2015). There are two kinds of research philosophy that is
interpretivism and positivism. In this report researcher will use interpretivism philosophy
because it assists in getting valid outcome from the large collected information.
Data collection: Data is collected from both primary and secondary sources. Primary information
is collected through survey and secondary information is collected from books, journals and
internet. Primary research is conducted because it assists in getting specific information
regarding the topic.
Data analysis: For analyzing the collected data qualitative techniques is used under which themes
are prepared on the basis of which interpretation is done (Gast and Ledford, 2014.). Qualitative
techniques is used because under this all information is collected in non numeric form
Sampling: Random sampling method is used by scholar for collecting the primary information.
Here, for the sample size 15 healthcare professional is undertaken so that valid result can be get
for present research.
