AI Summary
This research proposal investigates the impact of electric vehicles (EVs) on the transportation management system in New South Wales (NSW), Australia, with a specific focus on Sydney. The study aims to understand the reasons for adopting EVs, analyze their impact on logistics management, and assess their influence on the overall transportation system. The proposal includes a literature review, research objectives, research questions, and a detailed methodology using an exploratory research approach with a mixed-methods design. Data will be collected through surveys and analyzed using correlation analysis to determine the relationship between EVs and transportation management. The research seeks to provide valuable insights into the benefits of EVs, including sustainability through reduced CO2 emissions, cost-effectiveness, and improved efficiency in logistics and supply chain operations, offering implications for businesses and policymakers in the region.

Project Title
“Impact of electric vehicle in New South Wales (NSW) transportation management system: A
Case of Sydney”.
Research Overview and Justification
The research topic is selected because it is important to provide information that electric vehicle
provide positive effects on transportation management system. It is due to maintaining
sustainability by decreasing CO2 emissions from the automobiles which is estimated that it
reduce up to 94%. It also provides information that this leads in cost-effectiveness and efficiency
in the transportation management system. Through this, companies in NSW can adopt the
electric vehicle for transportation management system and can gain competitive advantage
through sustainability. An electric vehicle has positive impact on health of the people and
decrease the environmental damage. Therefore, in the past year the pollution through
transportation is increased (Shaukat et al., 2018). To overcome this problem logistics activity is
performed through electric vehicle, therefore through this electric vehicle is increased that is in
the year 2018, in NSW 2,274 electric vehicles were registered (Martinez et al., 2016). The
proposal describes that aims of present study is to investigating the effects of electric vehicles on
transportation management system of Sydney, particularly in logistics supply chain management.
Condensed Literature Review
Sulaiman et al., 2018 conducted the study to understand the concept of transportation
management system. The data collection was done through taking the opinion from the
employees; the investigation revealed that companies use different software to managing the
activities of logistics for supply chain management. Further, researcher conclude that for
maintaining sustainability companies also use electric vehicle because of using the batteries for
storing the power collected from wall outlets, it is done to reduce the carbon emissions
(Sulaiman et al., 2018).
Tian et al. 2018 demonstrate that the electric vehicles provide positive benefits to the
transportation which includes it results in decreasing the fuel cost and increase efficiency. It also

leads in solving various environments related issues and other strategic and operational problems
which is related with the electric vehicle that is companies can use electric vehicle for supplying
the products and other logistics activities. Tian et al., 2018 reveled similar result that electric
vehicle effects positively to the environment due to reducing CO2 emissions. The research gap in
the study is that it does not provide complete information about the electric vehicle influence on
the transportation sector (Tian et al., 2018).
Juan et al., 2016 conducted to understand the overall application of electric vehicle in the area of
logistics and supply chain management. Through using secondary method it is demonstrate that
an electric vehicle is powered through the collector system by electricity which contains battery,
solar panels and electric generator. Juan et al., 2016 also describes that through this supply of
product is done in sustainable manner. The information gathering is done through adopting
thematic analysis, in which various themes were identified related to the subject matter. The
results of the research also revealed that electric vehicle positive affects to the environment and
provide ease in the transportation policies of logistics, through this efficiency is maintained in
the operations of the company (Juan et al., 2016).
The objective of Andwari et al. conducting research is to understand the impact of electric
vehicle on the operations of the business. The data collection was done by collecting the
information through secondary sources. From the analysis it is revealed that it provide various
benefits such as it results in reducing fuel cost, less breakdown etc. Researchers also revealed
that it also have positive impact on environment it is because of saving the fuels by adopting
electric vehicles (Andwari et al., 2017).
Research Objectives
The main aim of the present study is to understand “the influence of electric vehicle on NSW
transportation system”. This objective will be further studied through the following sub-
objectives provide an answer to the main objective of the research because the influence on
logistics activities and changes an electric vehicle will bring to transportation management
