1ARTICLE SUMMARY
This article called “Love the place where you belong” focuses on early childhood and their
attachment with the environment they live around. During early childhood, children get affected
by the relationships they have, such as family, extended family, friends and with the
environment. This regulates the thoughts they have about their background and the setting they
are existing in. The ecological identity and connection with the place they belong to influences
their sense of belonging and that is essential during the growing years. The emphasis on the idea
that the foundation period of a person’s life makes them feel connected to the place they belong
to, due to the physical, emotional and spiritual attachment is displayed in this article.
Appreciating the place we belong to demands ways to identify more sustainable ways to reside in
this earth and the ecosystem. Education programmes done by teachers should inculcate their
students about being confident and competent in their special place (Mackey, 2016 pp 26-29).
The other article known as “Environment: The Third Teacher” conveys that our environment
plays a major role in our growth and development, including what we learn and how we learn.
When we make the environment our third educator, then we can explore more approaches on
teaching and learning, which helps in looking at the world from a different perspective. The
educational areas should be welcoming for both children and adults so that the educators can
enhance the environment by making it more appreciative and providing a sense of ownership for
the children. A community is built by the way an environment is turned educational, which
makes it aesthetically pleasing, harmonious and flexible. This article reflects the teachings of the
community in which they belong to. Educators can promote relationships between things, ideas
and people in a workshop to involve all the senses together. To make the environment an
essential part of our learning, we should consider every element of the environment so that it has
an impact on the content of the learning (Gobby & Walker, 2017 pp 395-414).
