According to (Coe, 2017), Globalisation is a wide term which is now became an

globalisation is old but recently it is rapidly growing and adopting by companies. As per the

finance and information across different borders. On the contrary (SPARKS, 2018) suggest
globalisation as mixing economy and society of two different nation to encourage industrial
relations.
It helps in spreading products, jobs, information etc. across different cultures. With the
help of globalisation the customers across the different nation can enjoy the services and
products of different nations. (Hamilton, 2018) stated that, globalisation increases the standard of
living and give quality life to the customers. It enhances global trade and maintaining good
relation with other countries which help in increasing GDP of the country as well as lead to
economic growth and development.
As per the views of (Morrison, 2016), it initiates free trade among nations where different
nation welcome products and services of different nations in their countries to maximise profit
and to get exposed to new innovative products and technologies. According to (Shi, and et.al ,
2018), globalisation increases job opportunities of people as different companies create job
opportunities in the country in which they expand their operations which lead to increase in per
capita income of the individual and increase their spending power.

globalisation has changed international law and made the taxation policies of country flexible. It
has also advanced social justice means it focused on human rights worldwide.
Theme 2 : Analysing positive economic impact of globalisation on retail business operations
According to (Hamilton, 2018), Globalisation has impacted every aspect of modern life.
Globalisation has created positive economic impact on retail business as most economist agree
that it provides benefit to individual as well as economy of the nation. (Ervin, 2016) sated that,
globalisation make market more effective and efficient , it increases competition and limits the
conflicts between countries as well as spread wealth equality among nation.
The economic benefits that globalisation provides is that it initiates foreign direct
investment which boost the trade of retail companies around the world as well as increase the
use of innovation and transfer of technology. It helps retail companies in industrial restructuring
and enhances their growth by expanding their operations.
As per the views of (Deb, 2016), it avails retail companies to have innovation in their
technology which ultimately gives economic benefit to the company by increasing their output
and reduce the cost of production. It helps retail companies in achieving economies of scale as it
reduces the cost and price of product when get exposed to different countries which enable them
to have economic growth and development. Globalisation has helped retail companies in
increasing their innovation, research and development .
According to (Goryakin, and et.al., 2015), globalisation is being accepted as a solution to
ensure consistence tool of economic growth and development around the world. It also helps

companies cost of production is low. It also help companies in improving quality of management
and working condition of people as thy get exposed to different culture.
Theme 3 : Analysing challenges of managing economical, cultural and ethical aspects at
workplace practices in context to globalisation.
The challenges of managing economical, cultural and ethical aspects at workplace are

across the different boundaries of world but wit opportunities comes the various challenges that
are faced by the company at work place.
As per the views of (De Mooij, 2018), the economical challenges faced by the company
are cultural diversity as the company is globalised it has diverse workforce which have different
backgrounds and work ethics which create issues and problems among them. The another
economic factor that impact company's workplace is changes in earning, as when company
outsource its employee it tend to give them income higher than the local employees even when
they are better than them which create jealousy and competitiveness in the company itself.
(Rahman, 2017.) stated that, culture challenges impact the business to the most extent. When
people from different culture, sub culture, caste and creed work under one roof it gets difficult to
understand their need and preferences and keeping everyone happy at the same time is not
possible and this create ineffectiveness & inefficiency in working operations.
According to (Ervin, 2016), the ethical challenge that workplace faces at time of
globalisation is that the environment of the countries that company is carrying out its operations
in need to be conserved and sustained and use of resources need to be limited. The other factor
needs to be taken care of is child labour, while doing work in the company, no company shall
take children and expose them to the work because it is against business ethics.
Theme 4 : Recommending ways in managing economic, cultural and ethical business operations
in globalisation.
According to (Ervin, 2016), to manage economic aspect of business operations the
company should first introduce its workforce to each other and should have an orientation of
people from different backgrounds. The company to make them feel comfortable can make them
play induction games in which they can know their names and places to which they belong to.
The company should respect each and every individual of their company and there should be
wage equality in the company according to the positions.
As per the views of (Smith, 2018), to manage cultural aspect at work place the company
should celebrate the festivals of each and every individual who belong to different nation so that
they can feel welcome and can put in their best efforts to achieve organisation's objective. Also
to maintaining cultural environment at work place the company should respect culture of each
employee and should never comment on their colour, caste, creed and background.

According to (Lane, 2016), to manage ethical environment in business operations the
company should do corporate social responsibility for the country they are working in by using
its resources because what the company use belong to the society and it is not ethical to not
return them the favour. The company should do campaigns and introduce quality goods and
services to the customers in low rates and also should not hire child labour and pregnant women
which is against business ethics and should consider it the most important aspect.

RESEARCH METHODOLOGIES
Research type
There are two types of research which is quantitative and qualitative. The quantitative
research takes numerical data and statistical facts and figures to carry out the research and it is
mostly objective in nature and hypothesis of quantitative data is tested whereas the qualitative
research develop understanding on individuals and judge how people think and feel and is
subjective in nature and create hypothesis data which is generated on the basis of assumptions
and answers of individuals.
The researcher will take qualitative research type as the research is based on assumptions
and answers of individuals.
Research approach
The research approach means procedure which have broad assumptions while collecting
data and analysing them and then formulating the hypothesis and then addressing the problem.
The approach of research can be of two types either inductive or deductive. In inductive theory
the researcher collect all the relevant data and analyse them and then develop new theory on the
basis of data whereas in deductive approach based on already existing hypothesis the researcher
analyse the data and then make a specific theory.
The researcher will use inductive theory as the research will move from specific to
general and will be based on qualitative data.
Research Design
It shows how the research will take place. It includes that how data was collected , which
instrument was used to collect data etc. the research design can be descriptive, experimental etc.
which depicts the answer contained in the research that how it was done.
Document Page
The researcher will use descriptive design as the research will provide the questions of
who, what, when , where with particular problem which is impact of globalisation in this case.
This design will use qualitative data and will interview on 25 employees of Tesco.
Research philosophy
It deals with knowledge development. It shows the way to the researcher that how data
should be collected that it can solve the research problem. There are 4 kinds of philosophies
which are pragmatism that deals with multiple methods designs and use both types of data type,
positivism which uses large samples of data and mostly uses quantitative data, realism which
choose both the data based on the subject and last one is interpretivism which takes small data
into consideration and use qualitative data to investigate issues.
The researcher will use interpretivism philosophy as it will consider small data which
will include questionnaires filled by 25 employees of Tesco.
Sampling
It refers to taking observations of people from a small sample and then concluding the results of
the research on that basis. There are 2 types of sampling mainly used by researcher which is
random sampling and random sampling.
The researcher will use random sampling by selecting 25 random employees and will draw
conclusion on the basis of their answers.
Data collection
The data collection refers to the method in which researcher is collecting its data. There are two
types of collecting data in which primary data deals with data which are untouched and unused
and are fresh in nature and found by researcher whereas secondary data relies on data that
already exists and are found from articles or newspapers or other researchers.
The researcher will use primary data as the research will take interview of 25 employees of
Tesco and researcher will create hypothesis on the basis of that data.

Data analysis
It contains analysis of the data collected, interpreted, type of research etc. and involves a
pattern that whole research follows and is directly related to area of research.
The researcher will use thematic analysis as the data which are being used are qualitative in
nature as well as examine and record themes and set pattern during the research.
Ethical consideration
Ethical consideration means that during research no person should to be harmed or forced
during taking interviews or filing questionnaires. The researcher need to take few points in
