INTRODUCTION
The Development of society helps out to gain the advancement in the market and all the
sectors through which the individuals can gain the change and varies products and increase the
economic conditions. Society passes through well-defined different level in order about
development. It is referring about business, post industrial, urban commercial for better
development about societies. In United kingdom due to heavy pandemic many organisation faces
high implication of productivity and growth downfall. It attempts about to explain qualitative
changes that enhance in structure and framework of society that helps to society better realize
aims and objectives. The scope of development which can define within manner applicable
towards all societies ascending movement featuring greater level of energy, efficiency, quality
along with productivity to create better and positive environment. In this report, issues which
prevented about high street shops have closed because shoppers in during pandemic are not
moving out. Further it will also cover basis of retail business positive and negative aspect that
define the reasons for the retail sector business get affected.
MAINBODY
As in the today’s time where retail sector sectors covers out the major involvement of
products that are being given to the consumers on direct basis through which various logistic
sectors with the wholesalers are being concerned (High streets and town centres in Eleventh
Report of Session 2017–19). Mainly the retail sectors covers out departmental stores,
supermarkets, door to door sales and various shops with internet retailers. It majorly concerns
and helps out to maintain the economic output for the country as well as in increase in economy
with that retail sector used to give several employment facility to the individuals which helps out
to reduce the unemployment and to run out the business in a proper manner it has various sectors
in sizes of enterprises being linked in it and there are various food, automotive fuel, clothing
shops which are being made with some household good shops covering under it that are adequate
for Individuals to cover all the basic needs. But there are certain changes which everyone has
seen with the High Street shops because most of the shoppers used to travel in large shopping

areas I am with the rise of Covid it is being effectively increased it has certain positive and
negative impact on the retail(Jackson, C.C. and Hughes, C. (2015)
Positive impact As all the High Street shops are facing various issues as they are preferably
closed and peoples are shifting towards the large shopping centers it has somehow held out to the
individuals in order to get authenticate products. However there has been seen that many of the
High Street shops are not licensed and they used to sell all the infringed copies of the products
without any authentication, some people believe that they While buying products from the High
Street shops is comparatively Not that good as compare to shopping centers (Jackson, C.C. and
Hughes, C. (2015. On the other hand it is also seen that most of the brands are being copied by
those shops and a sell on a larger price. So it has a positive effect that people will not being
cheated and should get a proper quality of product from the shopping centers. Other than that,
one more positive factor is that through all the shopping centre the people can get their own
favorable choice of product with a proper ranging and sales on that, through which they can
implicate on the safer side by getting the quality(Briefing paper on Retail sector in the
UK.).However most of the High Street shops has started to sell their products on the internet
retailing which helps them out in getting the experience and also to raise more customers by
exciting offers as in the time of Covid it is quite difficult for all of them to approach to the
shopping centers and physical shops and this online shopping sites helped retailers to gain more
customers.
Negative impact There are certain negative impacts which were being seen as ready shifting of
people in the larger market areas they are like most of the physical stores usually being affected
as there was an economic loss to them and they had also faced financial crisis. It is true that
various online stores are being open by the retailers but somehow people used to trust on the
brands rather than the normal physical stores online shops. Other people believe that it is good to
buy a product specially a beauty and all the personal services to be from the branded area in
malls rather than trusting any retailers.This has somehow affected the employment so many
workers who have being working in the physical stores are jobless and they do not have any
work to do through which it affected the economic factor. However in conjunction from the long
period has made the household disposable income much slower than the other years. On the
other hand Rise in the Covid also affected most of the people as the retail shops in the physical
shops are being closed and they have no medium to earn money and people were scared to move

to the physical shops and prefer to go to the malls in the branded shops area(High streets and
town centres in Eleventh Report of Session 2017–19).
CONCLUSION
As per the above argument which summarized about negative factor of development
society in context of small business or street shops can faces high challenges. The overall
argument are High street death in retail sector of United Kingdom, along with elaborates the
information related with Covid-19 that enhance positive opportunities as well as negative
challenges through online business prevents better business. But the negative factor creates on
implication small business in pandemic situation for attaining negative outcomes that prevents
lack of productivity, less customer interaction, many manufacturing and small business went shut
down due to high crises of Covid situation. More than this, it provides an accessible
representation of the complexities of the retail sector, including the spatial scale of causes of
change, the range of stakeholders involved and the level at which contributory classes of
obsolescence impact on retail location obsolescence.
