1EVALUATE LEARNING ACTIVITIES
Question: Evaluate how learning activities have affected practice within my practice in the
primary school
Educating children and young adults for developing their career is a challenge of every
educator from where I am not exceptional to that. While dealing with the students of a primary
school I have made an extensive research on how to improve my professional competency based
on which students do not get bored in attending my classes. In order to collect data I have
personally interacted with the senior mentors and teacher of this institution who are serving for
several years with wide knowledge and experience.
While educating students I as a junior facilitator had to go through several learning
activities. I have made numerous workshops where my senior teacher guided me on how to grab
the attention of children. In this various activities I had to make lesion plans based on the issues
faced by the students. While discussing with my senior teachers I got to know that I should
render some major improvement on some of the most specific areas. Communication skill is one
of the most effective parts for drawing students’ attention (Papamitsiou and Economides 2014).
While taking the learning activities I got to know that audio-visual effect is very effective
way to grab students’ attention. I as facilitators should not restrict my education method with
lecture method only. I can use the advancement of technology with the help of which student can
get both audio-visual effect. Learning method through audio-visual media breaks the monotony
of a classroom. Especially, a primary school is constituted with the children of 5 to 10 age group.
In order to educate those children only lecture method is not sufficient enough to draw their
attention. Therefore, by attending different workshops and lesson plan activities I got to know

that audio visual effect is more useful to memorize class notes for the children. Therefore, it
would bring an enthusiastic outlook of the learners in listening to the lecture notes of facilitators.
However, it is observed that learning activities along with extensive research have helped
me immensely in improving my teaching quality as well as handling pressures. With the flow of
time education system is changing enormously (Mertens 2014). These learning activities have
enhanced my personal skill and competency as well. Initially I used to make direct method while
taking a class. As a result, I did not have any clue whether the students are understanding my
lecture or not. After attending the learning session I got to know student interaction is highly
important with the help of which student from various geographical backgrounds and attitudes
can share their views and thoughts within classroom. I would be able to know the progressive
way of the student based on which I can implement new learning plan for proceeding next.
Moreover, this learning activity has enhanced my confidence level as well with the help of which
I can easily share my views and perception with my seniors. It is undeniable that learning
activities have left major positive impact on the overall educational practices in a primary school.
