TASK 2
Overview of Globalisation
This research project is set to examine the impact of logistics complexities on
globalisation; and use the crucial logistic tools available to expand its business operations in the
global market. Over the past twenty-plus years, the world has witnessed unprecedented rise in
the sale of various types of motor vehicles. The phenomenon is brought about by the increase in
trend for global growth in businesses to satisfy the demand for goods manufactured in different
parts of the world. The trend assumes the following sequence: an item is designed in one
country, produced/fabricated in a second country and sold in a 3rd country within the spate of one
day.
Definition of Globalisation
Globalisation is a term usually used to describe intercontinental economic, social and
political; integration through global networks of trade, capital flows, and spread of technology
and global media (Gary j. Wells et al 2001). Complexity is the state of having many different
parts interconnected or related to one another in very complicated manner
(Collinsdictionary.com, 2019). Due to the ever-increasing demand for growth of sustainable
business models, global strategies are locked in the network of complex dimensions to fit the
demand and supply trend in the world. But in other to achieve this, the prerequisites for
reasonable activity techniques are experiencing basic change because of the quickly expanding
multifaceted nature of the worldwide economy. A large number of the applied underpinnings of
financial arrangement causing must to be profoundly re-examined: from the worldview of
development to standard monetary models to neighbourhood and momentary impetus
frameworks to existing basic leadership structures. A practical worldwide financial model ought
to limit dangers, be versatile to emergencies, and give future ages the chance to have a satisfied
existence on our planet. Doing as such requests that we encourage innovative and well-
established thought due to the complexities of globalisation.
Drivers of Globalisation
Globalisation is the biggest concept at international market that define the essential
growth system. In order to deal at international market, new businesses should have to face such
drivers such as technological, Political, Market drivers, cost drivers, Competitive drivers etc. all

Logistic Complexities
Logistics refers to “the systematic coordination of a series of convoluted arrangement
aimed for the successful movement of goods from the point of origin/manufacture to the point of
consumption so as to meet the satisfaction of customers and organisations” (Chan and Lee,
2005). In a nut-shell, the assets oversaw in coordinations may incorporate unmistakable
products, for example, materials, hardware, and supplies, just as sustenance and other
consumable things. The coordination of physical things as a rule includes the combination of
data stream, materials taking care of, generation, bundling, stock, transportation, warehousing,
and regularly security. A well established and efficient logistics network is the bed-rock of
organisation to take its share of the pie as a successful enterprise in the global market.
The A/Z GARAGE LTD in Barking Essex London is involved in the rat race of
globalisation. The company is involved in the sale of various brands of vehicles ranging from
cars for leisure, genuine and reliable cars components, MOT services as well as heavy duty
vehicles such as trucks which are used in the delivery of goods.
Due to saturation in the home market in the motor sales and service industry in the United
Kingdom, there is overriding need for A-Z Motor company to strive for survival in business;
therefore, the company endeavour to sustain its survival by going global and must consider the
best logistic option on the wheel of globalisation to succeed.
A survey carried out by the Mitta consortium in London revealed that in the last ten
years, the American market has increased its demand for the United Kingdom vehicles and
associated services and the BRIC block countries i.e. Brazil, Russia India and China have
increased their demand for made in the United Kingdom parts (Sturgeon et al 2009).
AIM OF THE RESEARCH
The aim of this research is to investigate how the A/Z GARAGE LTD will advance its growth by
using the most efficient logistics tools available to join the global family.

basis of theories. Besides, Inductive research approach spread or make the different theories and
concepts. Present research has been using inductive method to produce the outline about the
negative and positive impact of globalisation on the businesses.
Research Design: Research Design is the research framework which belongs to two
groups exploratory and conclusive. Exploratory research aims is to explore the research topic by
conducting the deep study. Conclusive research design is the structured and well-defined way to
perform the research and found the insight knowledge. Present study has been using Exploratory
research design to determine the benefits or drawbacks of globalisation.
Data collection: Primary or secondary are the two distinct method of data collection
which is the most significant for the study (Taylor, Bogdan and DeVault, 2015). Primary method
of data collection is to collect data from survey, questionnaire. In other words, primary
information can be measure by two methods either from qualitative & quantitative method.
Quantitative data collection method are basically analysed information in mathematical manner
or qualitative data method is conducted as per the thematic way. Secondary data collection
method where the data has been collected through internet, journal, books etc. which has already
been exit. Present research collects information on globalisation from both the techniques by
conducting questionnaire survey.
Data Analysis: Research information or data has analysed by two different techniques
qualitative and quantitative data analysis. Qualitative technique to analyse data does not involve
mathematical term and calculations this technique conduct data by thematic presentation. On the
contrary, Quantitative method conduct the whole information or data in mathematical manner to
disclose the exact fact and figures by using methods such as mean, median and mode. Present
study uses qualitative data analysis tool.
Sampling: Sampling is the significant term in research methods which decides to select
number of populations to be included in the study. There are two methods of sampling
probability and non-probability sampling. Probability sampling give chance to everyone to
participate in the research process (Flick, 2015). In which some following methods are include
such as simple, stratified systematic, multistage and cluster sampling methods. Besides, non-
probability sampling is another method in the study which different methods are includes such as
quota, purposive, snowball sampling methods. Present study uses simple random sampling by
taking 20 employees from Toyota (Alvessons and Sköldberg, 2017).
