In recent time there has been a lot of issues occurred related to security concerns in
media. These issues have resulted in creating a negative impact on society. Moreover, it has
influenced the mind of people. They are easily been manipulated by fake news. This has become
a major source for politicians to take advantage of it by putting negative allegations on
opposition to attract public.

This topic is related to sociology area which refers to interaction of people within culture
or society. It reflects on behaviour, beliefs, values, etc. of people related to security concerns
spread by media through news (Hajli and Lin, 2016). Recently, news shown by media is directly
impacting on perception of people. It may be in against or in favour of news. In present era
media plays a crucial role in diverting minds of people. They show news and content in such a
manner that people attention can be gained. Also, it has negatively impacted individual in social
interaction. Due to this people are getting abused by others. For instance, spreading of
unauthentic news on channels and social sites have resulted in protest, killing of innocent people,
etc. Youth are attracted towards illegal activities. Media technology has entered in every sector
such as education, health care, business, etc. It is highly influencing society to change
perception. The crimes rate is increasing day by day and manipulating teenagers to engage in

illegal activities. The evolution of new technologies is leading towards a new era. But rise in fake
news have increased gap between society. Media is highly interrupting privacy of individual and
society. They are entering Hence, people are enforced to put more restrictions on media. It is
stated that there is both good and bad impact on society. The state of mind of people is
influenced by media. But majorly it has led to change in negative way. The facts and figures
displayed does not give clear meaning or understanding. Youngsters state of mind is focused
towards maintaining their privacy (Benson, Saridakis and Tennakoon, 2015). They are making
high efforts in protecting data and information. In similar way, efforts are made by society to
remove undesirable comments of media news.
Now, people are relying more on social sites. It is because of authentication and security
measures which allows them to access it easily. Furthermore, people identify what is right or
wrong in different news. When media channels reflect on any particular aspects or takes favour
of anything, it is linked with security. This results in negative outcomes which restricts people
socially interact. Besides this, an uncertainty is developed among them that how news will affect
in future. Government have also set some determinants regarding security concern. This have
benefited in getting clear understanding about news. However, social media have contributed as
well in rising security concern. The fake news is spread their as well which influence state of
mind. In addition to it, culture and values are related to security perception as well.
In order to bring suitable balance between both positive and negative results of media, it
is essential to find the right sources through which news is collected (Cheung, Lee and Chan,
2015). This will be useful in showing proper content to people. Alongside, it will help public to
understand difference about the authentic and fake content. Consequently, people will rely more
on news rather than other perception. It is very important to mitigate security concerns so that
negative impact can be minimised. It will be useful in showing relevant and accurate content.
Some major measures can be taken by government such as development of cyber cell,
formulation of policies and laws, etc. Additionally, such regulatory framework would assist in
minimising the illegal activities and help society in profound manner. Its overall impact would
be curbed effectively through responses under legislative framework. For example, strict legal
action such as imposing fines should be taken in any case related to this.
