Introduction
Nursing is a health care profession that requires an approach and quality practices when interacting
with patients or working in a health care professional environment. However, nursing is a practice
that directly involves and focuses on a patient’s health. Nursing is a profession that serves a key role
in managing patient or individual care. It requires various methods of practice and a variety of
settings when involved in patient care. As the nursing profession is increasing globally, that has
resulted in the increasing demand for the nurse’s training and participating in contributing their
roles effectively. In this way, the nursing standards are set to fulfill the requirement of every
individual. However, the major role of the health care professional is to collaborating with doctors by
establishing a plan of care and focusing on the standard of care. The nursing profession has always
been the root of the healthcare sector as it is the most significant profession that helps in the
coordination of a patient and provides care throughout treatment. Advancement in nursing has
been reported as an effective development in the healthcare profession. This also provide also an
approach which is productive for the patient and their compliance and provide the additional factor
which help to access in the distribution of quality of health and quality of care o the patient
(Ahlstedt and et. al., 2019).
Experience
My practice in the health care profession has been brought my understanding in a manner that
when a patient seeks health, it is my duty as a nursing student to acquire every detail about the
individual’s problem and provide an answer to which is possibly related to their studying and
professional scenario. On the base of various experience this is well analyses that my professional
placement experience as a nursing student, I was responsible for delivering the medicines to the
patient on time and in an appropriate manner of dosages. However, it requires a lot of studies to
administer the right amount of dose that the patient is required to have. As medication serves a vital
role in the treatment of the patient and, on the other hand, patients are not well aware of these
medications and treatment, and sometimes they are reluctant to order to be treated and they
usually provide effective care. As per this, my knowledge and skill which I gain from the academic
session during pursing the nursing provide me proficient and productive knowledge for the caring of
patient. Being a nursing student, the administration of the drug is a practice where any mistake
could lead to severe consequences and therefore, with the help of standards of procedures and
practices. I was able to fulfill my duty effectively (Bulman & Schutz, 2018).
Registered nursing standard
Nursing is a dynamic health care profession that requires effective guidelines, and number of policies
which is adapted by the registered nurse in order to provide the effective knowledge and skill. This
skill and knowledge help to gain more decision-making power while the situation is arising. An
analysis of standard 1.4 requires a framework of policies and regulations in the matter of decision-

making as each of these standards holds significance in nursing practice (Sweet et al., 2020).
However, in any health care profession, the essential practice is the technique of decision-making
under certain circumstances and that requires clinical reasoning skills. Therefore, under the
standards, registered nurses are responsible for making the decision and analysing the requirements
to perform a task that follows the nursing plan of care. These decisions are based on the
consideration that a registered nurse competent to perform the activity effectively under
supervision (Tong and et. al., 2018). This needs to establish a quality management framework with
the required clinical skills, including best practice methods. As a nursing student, the matter of
administering he right dose of medicines to the patient is a practice that cannot be performed
without these standards. Therefore, in the administration of medicines, an individual must be well-
trained and experienced. However, drug administration is a science that requires different routes of
administration depending on the nature of treatment under proper supervision. This all are used to
provide the patient care and proper caring in term of role and responsibilities. The role of nurse is to
provide the medication with proper time to patient which is prescribed by the physician and doctor.
As per this, the registered nurse is required to follow the general guidelines before practicing the
techniques. Decision-making is an important tool in the health care as it directly impacts the
individual’s mode of treatment. Professional placement experience provides the knowledge-based
decision-making strategies which is productive in the patient treatment and care which is regulated
by nurse. On the other practice, they acknowledgment helps in the development of better decision-
making skills and contributes to a quality health care practice. Therefore, the decision-making
technique aims to be responsible for planning or performing the activity effectively in a harmless
manner (Callander et al., 2021). However, in a dynamic health care sector, a decision-making tool to
establish a structure that requires time to time modification and advancement in the nursing
profession that provides quality and service-oriented practices in health care professions. On many
occasions, nurses are responsible for making a professional decision or consulting with the experts
or other team members to develop an understanding regarding the situation. This will ultimately
gain a where the practitioner would be able to make decisions in response to certain issue (Lan and
et. al., 2019).
As per this, the standard which is used to follow in this is 1.4, this helps me to gain more and
adaptive knowledge base factor. This standard is used to provide effective measurement and scope
for the nurse and from this standard I used to gain number of experiences which is based on the
patient safety. Some of the measurement which is adopted in this is to provide the knowledge which
is appropriate from the standard 1.4 and 3.4.

Furthermore, the standards of practice provide the framework that maintains the system
management and contributes to the development of a better healthcare environment and
healthcare professionals, respectively. On analysis of standard 3.4 that reflects the individual
responsibilities in terms of their actions that they are capable of providing the care to the patient.
This, in turn, reflects that responsibility is fundamental to the registered nursing that every
healthcare professional is accountable for their actions and policies to do practice (Sweet et al.,
2020). Therefore, in the matter of accountability, the code of practice which help to plays a major
role that demonstrates the laws and regulations for action, decision-making, and behaviours (Turan
2020), as this practice will focus on gaining the patient’s trust and ensure the services to provide
care (Darch and et. al., 2017). However, in any mode of healthcare practice, a practitioner is
responsible for maintaining a trustworthy relation with the patient and monitored throughout the
care (Callander et al., 2021). For instance, in the matter of medicine administration where a patient
is not aware regarding the complication which is identified by the test which is used for the
diagnosing. Thus, this test report provides the ways that used for the decision while preparing
medication. In this case, the nursing practitioner is accountable to ensure the mode of treatment is
for the betterment of a patient’s health, following the procedures of standards, maintaining trust,
and providing answers and explanations to develop the understanding of the patient as it will
develop the concepts of trust and actions in the plan of care. Therefore, these standards are
required to set general rules of guidance and practices to perform an activity in a more accountable
manner. It requires critical thinking and evaluating outcomes in lifelong learning.
On investigation of previous literature, the first National Competency standard in the matter of
nurse practice was later modified under the name of Australian NP standards of practice. This led to
the establishment of several standards that were required to use for educational, regulatory,
employment, and providing quality healthcare services, focusing on the registered nursing. These
standards serve in a multipurpose manner to meet the requirement for the development of
standards for practice. However, this turned into the modification of terms such as the scope of
practice, advanced nursing practice, and extended practice in the manner of setting nursing
management and regulations (Sweet et al., 2020). However, the major finding was the use of
language and behaviour to get a better understanding of the individual’s problem. This led to the
development of a practice that language and behaviour in any healthcare profession is one of the
significant standards that are responsible for the advancement in the healthcare professions. And
thus, it helps in the matter of decision-making and conducting various practices for the betterment
of individual and nursing practice. Similarly, accountability is a major practice that determines the
individual’s action towards the standards and that either they are performing their activity in a

standardized manner or not. Additionally, these standards are key findings that resulted in the
advancement of the nursing profession and healthcare services (Morgan and et. al., 2018).
Impacts on individuals if RN standards are neglected:
Neglecting the standards of practice in professional nursing standards would lead to severe
consequences and may affect patient life. These standards are the requirements that are needed in
the assessments and care of patients. Therefore, the registered nurse will not be able to perform
their duties adequately under the guidelines (Dahlawi et al., 2021). This may result in the breach of
the law of health services that the patient is not getting the desired mode of treatment because of
the neglecting of standards. Standards are, therefore, required to practice a profession sufficiently.
As registered are required to directly interact with the patient throughout their treatment, this is
why these standards are the essential tools for maintaining discipline and act according to the
guidelines of registered nursing Sweet et al., 2020). If during any event, these standards are
neglected, it would impact the healthcare services and professions. For instance, if the
aforementioned criteria are neglected, that are the standards 1.4 and 3.4, it would result in the
consequences where the patient's life is in danger. This help to provide the knowledge and used to
provides the decision making which gain to know the patient compliance. This would further
demonstrate the inabilities and lack of standards of procedures in the matter of patient care.
Decision-making is one of the important factors that cannot be neglected. On the other hand,
registered nurse is accountable for their behaviour, language, and actions when treating the patient.
In any way, if these two standards are violated, it would disturb the framework of any healthcare
organization (Kim and et. al., 2021). On reviewing the nature of negligence and violation that
impacts patient or healthcare profession, it stated that conducting analysis and reports that are not
based on the process decision-making shows a neglectful behaviour by the nursing practitioner.
However, it would promote the severe clinical outcomes of the patient. And therefore, as a nursing
practitioner, if these standards are neglected, it would increase the mismanagement of patient care.
For instance, as a matter of negligence to these standards are used to increase in clinical errors and
unfavourable consequences. A nurse has accountability and commitment to perform the duties
(Dahlawi et al., 2021). In any situation, nurse practitioners are bound to their duty with the following
code of conduct (TURAN, 2020). Duty of care, in any practice, holds a significant line of methodology
that serves as a framework to support the standards and enumerating the causes that may result in
the negligence (Harrison et al., 2020). However, if RN standards are neglected, the healthcare
society will not be able to provide quality services to the patient, and the nursing profession will be
affected. On the other hand, violating the policies impacts the system significantly. Registered nurses
are required to follow standards and policies in the matter of decision-making actions inherent to

their role and for the actions of others, and if failed to do so, their license will be canceled, and
eventually, nursing practitioners may discharge from their job (Butler et al., 2020). That includes the
assurance and safety of the patient. Therefore, if these standards are neglected, it would diminish
the advancement process and learning materials (Sweet et al., 2020). However, if the integration of
these practices is neglected, it will likely promote rational actions in terms of decision-making and
clinical practice (Harrison et al., 2020). Moreover, the practice will not be implemented properly and
will not align to reflect the standards of a nursing profession, and in contrast to these views, the
patient health would be compromised, and the efficacy of care will be affected simultaneously. The
patient will not be able to share their problems and mitigate errors. On the other hand, these
standards are important in the matter of clinical practice to evaluate practice according to the
nursing standard (James and et. al., 2021).
There is registered nursing standard which is used to develop and approved by the NMBA. There are
occur which comes under to the umbrella legislation and national registration for the registered
nursing, this all used to include the nurses. There is development of together which have stated the
territory to the health professional which is for the legislation into the health practitioner regulation
national law act 2009. As per this, the national law requires that the legislation which is show the
standard must be formulated which provide the professional indemnity insurance arrangement.
Section 39 of the national also suppose to provide the guidance and develop to provide the ensure
the contemporary relevant standard which is understood and used by nurses and midwives. The
NMBA used to approve the standard for the registration, the code of conduct and ethics, guides to
the core of professional and share their boundaries and show the standard of practice which is
based on the law and standard (Neher-Schwengler, M., 2019).
Consequences
In the matter of negligence, several consequences may occur that affect the nurse practitioners in a
variety of manner. It is addressed that the nursing profession is based on the development of
understanding and maintaining a trustworthy relationship with the individual. As the nursing
profession serves a significant role in maintaining quality services and taking care of the patient.
However, if these practices are neglected, the patient may likely suffer from disease. The patient and
their families would be more likely to report the management on account of negligence. The term
negligence in the matter of nursing practice standards is defined as medical malpractice. Medical
malpractice is referred to as an act that results in the matter of negligence (Dahlawi et al., 2021).
However, this would be represented as a crime if an act of negligence is practiced from a standard of
care. Although on account of negligence to these standards, the registered nurse would be under

the custody that states that the nurse was irresponsible in a manner to follow the standards and
therefore is accountable for the consequences. However, any violation of these standards would
result in a breach of duty, and it must be analysed if the Registered nurse has performed the duties
inadequately or did not follow the requirements to meet the standards. Moreover, this will affect
the practice of the registered nurse and will be held responsible for neglecting the standards. In
anyhow, if these standards of practice fall below the required standard of care, it may result in a
lawsuit against the nurse. In other words, nurse practitioners can damage or harm the individual
indirectly when the standards of care are neglected. The two standards are therefore required to
establish a quality practice in the matter of health services and the nursing profession (Markey and
et. al., 2018).

role in the development of quality of care and quality of health in the community. As per this, there
are number of fractions which stated about the standard of the registered nursing. The standard is
used to show the ethical consideration and provide the discipline and momentum. This standard is
