INTRODUCTION
A constant procedure of attracting as well as retaining high quality of employees for
increasing skills and improving performance is known as talent management. This study is based
on Interlinked that supplies specialist covering mechanical, plumbing in construction sector all
over the UK. Companies in technological solution fields are facing problems due to increasing
competition (Pandita and Ray, 2018). It becomes important for companies to make use of
strategies that can increase staff retention rate. It is possible with an effective staff retention
policy and other strategies. There are some ways by which companies can increase staff retention
rate such as: motivation, rewards, policies like safety policy and others.
Background of the study
Talent management can be defined as strategic process of getting the right talent onboard
and help them out in retaining with the company. This present study us going to discuss
effectiveness of staff retention policy for helping out company in reducing staff turnover rate (De
Sousa Sabbagha, Ledimo and Martins, 2018). It will further discuss impacts that staff retention
policies and other strategies can have and ways as how it can improve overall performance of
company. There are several ways by which Interlinked company can retain its skilled workforces
and can take competitive advantages. All these strategies that this study will show are:
motivation, rewards, performance appraisal and others.

Rationale
Staff retention is one of the main business issue that can create several problems and
affect image. The main aim behind conducting this research on staff retention is to make
companies able in taking competitive advantages. It may help them out in the future in building
their companies productive. All sectors of companies can make use of staff retention policies and
it is beneficial for both employees and employers. It is interesting topic and I wanted to gather
data related to this because it can increase knowledge and skills regarding ways of making
employees able to retain (Johennesse and Chou, 2017). So, as per the wide scope and
advantages, it can be said that selected topic can make beneficial to companies in making itself
productive.
Scope
It has wide scope at academic level as students can also identify strategies of decreasing
staff turnover rate. It is also beneficial for companies and can help them out to the great extent at
corporate level. By knowing ways of increasing staff retention, companies can take competitive
advantages and can also increase employees' satisfaction level. So, it can be said that it has great
scope and can help in the future to employers.
