There are many factors related to violence that is caused by riots. Throughout history,
there have been many riots in America and other countries that were caused as a protest towards
injustice. This has caused injuries on both sides and been highlighted as a major factor for social
disrupt. The research paper explains some well-known instances related to violence from riots
and what are the key factors involved with it.
It is known that the great nation of America was made through many hardships that
included riots and violence and can be dated back to the time when British tax collectors and the
normal people who actually fought with everything they had for their rights (The Atlantic). Even
in present times, this violence exists in modern cities. Even after the 1990s, urban cities like Los
Angeles have been the epicenters for racial and economic crisis and problems that has even lead
to chaos like looting, arson and brutality from the police (DiPasquale, Denise, and Glaeser).
There has been progression despite the political unrest that has taken place in the country.
Urban riots have made many impacts that have changed the economical function of a city
in a short span of time. When looked at riots such as Boston Tea Party, it can be said that the
political unrests that took place in Missouri has actually led to some positive social changes.
These would include the riots drawing focus to oppressive authoritarian rule (Schlesinger). This
has also spurred investigation in cases that has law enforcement as well as other government-

based systems. However there are some factors that proves riots have made a good impact
towards the society.
Past examples include the riot that took place in France back in 2005 where many people
lost their lives and properties were damaged (Time). The riot also resulted in the arrest of many
civilians or common bystanders who were not involved with the riot in any way (Koff, Harlan
and Duprez). The result after the whole incident resulted in a breakdown of immigration system
and people blamed the activists instead of an assessment of religious tension. Popular figures
who have been a key figure in nonviolent resistance include the likes of Martin Luther King and
Gandhi created a new path to social justice (Miller). These people were the first ones those who
were able to inspire and convince a large group of people into protests without any signs of
violence. By the method of peace and not fighting, they were able to achieve freedom.
To maintain balance and equity riots are never a good solution as it leads to casualty on
both sides (Rollingstone.com). Riots do not normally begin without signs of excessive injustice
or dominance. It is known fact that thousands of people do not protest together for a small reason
(Beul). The American Revolution can be considered as an example that proved people who are
desperate for the response have no other recourse to cause riots. Therefore by reducing the
violent measures to achieve a goal, equity can still be attained.
Therefore from the above discussion it can be concluded that the violence caused from
riots has been a factor that has led to injuries. Boston Tea Party or even the riot that took place in
Los Angeles had been the reason for injuries and arrests of many people. However, people
continue to do so in order to fight against injustice that can be found on almost every part of the
world.
