Effects of Social media to democracy
One of my selected articles gives the introduction to social media in society. What impressed
me with it is the reasons and the implication it imposes in the society such as
democratization, undermining of the peace in the countries through blogs and the tweets.
Recently, it has been discovered that social media is imposing dangers to society; this is seen
by the possibility of global democratization (De Vries, Gensler, & Leeflang, 2012). It has
posed fears among the individual ranges from the media, scholars, the philanthropic
community, civil society as well as the politicians. The main reason why I decided to select
this discussion topic and its relation to political science is that it is a world phenomenon.
Therefore, as political science students, I found it more prudent to learn most of the basic
concerns and the activities which should be carried out eradicate this national crisis (O'Keeffe
& Clarke, 2011). It will also help me to contextualize and understand the comprehensive
overview on the scholarly literature related to factors which hinder the work of the judiciary
to eliminate the highly globalized form of the communication which undermining the
democracy, political polarization as well as the disinformation of the online.
Since it has negative impacts too in the society, such break-up of the families, widespread of
the conflict among the individuals, prostitution as well as cheating in the marriage thus I
found it more practical to find basic information related to social media. Since the document I
will draft shall contain solution which will be more useful to the society if implemented as
the law, thus I found it more useful to learn more segments of the social media, its roots,
causes and the effects it may have to the future generation if it is eradicated.Similarly, its
relation to question is that it mostly being used by the young generation as compared to the
number of the old individuals thus there is less uniformity in the uses of social media.
Additionally, the most important message which everyone needs to learn from the social

media is that they should not use it in the negative way, which may impose threat to other
individuals but should be in the form of communication.
The Canadian political party which would support my personal view about this topic selected
With reference to the Canadians, political crime scene which was lately witnessed in the
Ottawa vividly gives deep knowledge about the use of social media. The footage of the terror
was covered by media. The protection of the undercover polices which stage live from the
monuments of Ottawa clearly illustrate how the importance is the media to the government.
The posting of the different soldiers across the monuments over the awaited ceremonies
which were to take place soon raised a lot of doubts from the individuals who did not
hesitate to complain about it through the tweeter
The implication and impacts of the uses of social media on society
The hit and popularity of the social media across the globe have increase thus there is a need
to reduce its uses in the society. However, it has positive impacts on the people especially to
the young generation individuals who have embraced the digitalization thus reducing it have
great impact them Due to escalation of the insecurity which is concern to everyone, it is
prudent to limit its uses especially areas where it deprived the rights of the individuals in the
society such as recording of the related terror documents. With reference to the incidence of
the Ottawa, the government should have banned the circulation of the videos which touched
the issues of the insecurity thus reduces the animosity and the tension in the country
especially to the Canadian Ottawa incidence
The relation of social media and democracy
Persistent use of ads and unrelated touching videos about terror attacks sometimes causes
tension which results in the demonstration of the individuals across the state. Due to this, may
leads to violation of the democracy of the individuals since the government may use un-law
force to disperse them which is against their right. However, based on the definition of the
democracy, which it defines as a process and a value which individuals elect their

representative to air their grievance at the national level. Similarly, it also a state of sense
value of feelings which someone has to agitate over certain activities which they feel is not
right to them.
Violent protest
Some policies may be against the right of the majority in the community. Since the power
and weapon rested upon the common individuals is only protest to make their problems to be
heard in a democratic state. Based on such evident it is clear to deduce that protest is the form
of democracy but not a criminal act.
Influence of the media
Media in the democratic state act as the independent body. However, in most of the
government coverage especially the crimes scene, it is evident that they have failed to follow
the independent act and relies on the government side. Some of the crime scenes are so worse
and that’s why they are deprived of showing the public due to animosity it can result to state.
Therefore, media has impacts on the live coverage of many issues which need more attention
to the public. Contrarily, as opposed to their ethic, they show the sense of the inequality over
some incidence. These kind acts are against the right of the individual especially the
journalist who should report whatever they have seen without relying on the additional source
of the information.
Discussion
Social media give a clear pictorial examples on some of the challenges individuals do face in
the contemporary society. It equipped leaners with insight solutions that is posed by daily
challenges which is characterized by the digitalization. It has both effects which ranges from
local to international level thus is it can provide apolitical science with variety of the
knowledge based on the political matter and social issues.

With the knowledge I have gained through social media, as a political science student it is
quite clear that it has negative and positive impacts on society. It characterized by inequality,
social class as many others. Social media as a concept of the study I found to be more useful
since it helps me as a political science student to know causes political tension that ranges
from negative to positive. Therefore, I found it more important as a course since it provides
me with a research idea of the contemporary issues about the community and the national
