CHAPTER 1: INTRODUCTION
Marketing is the most important department of an organization which ensures long run
growth of the firm. The event management industry of UK is outperforming in the marketplace
because of series of events are performed each year. There are number of tools and techniques
which are applied by the corporation for marketing products and services. It proves to be
effective for increasing customer base which helps in increasing overall rate of return. The
current report is based upon Wonderland event of UK which offers quality services for clients. It
organizes several types’ of field festival in accordance with season and meet requirement of
clients effectively. It consists of number of festivals like Chilled in a Field which is a family-
friendly festival in south of London. Under this, corporation offers free activities with great
dance music and live bands. The company is operating its business at large scale in UK, London
and also uses variety of social media tools in context of HR department. The main reason behind
using such kind of technique is to integrate workforce together who are working on the particular
project. Not only this, but management of Wonderland Events put efforts to attract more and
more competent workforce by using effective social media strategies. This proves to be effective
to reduce expenses which are incurred for placing advertisement through print media. It aids to
save time as well as cost and complete the HR related activities of recruitment and selection in
relatively less time.
The HR department of any organization is important because it retains or selects the most
competent workforce in the corporation. The major responsibilities of HR consist of employee
relation, recruitment and selection as well as training and development. Along with that,
compensation and benefits are also included which facilitates the workforce to motivate to
achieve objectives of corporation. Owing to this, use of social media is important in current era
through which HR department of event the management corporation can easily attract more
workforces. It will be effective for the company to create competitive edge by reducing cost of
production by effectively using HR strategies on social media. However, in current era
competition is increased to a great extent where customers are switching from one to another
brand very frequently. Furthermore, HR department faces issues in manual training and
development for simple aspect which can be resolved easily by using social media. Owing to
this, current study is being conducted to assess the impact of social media on effective

implementation of different HRM practices in the corporation. These aspects tend to ensure
effective communication in team and better coordination can be determined.

The aim and objectives of research are mentioned as follows which will be helpful for the
researcher to collect large amount of information and draw valid outcome for study effectively. It
proves to be effective for selecting the right kind of methodologies and other related aspect of
study for drawing valid outcome-

Literature review is the most important chapter of any study because it provide evidence
related to all collected information. Under this researcher uses number of sources for gathering
secondary information through which valid outcome can be extracted from the collected
information. Under the current study on impact of social media on event management sector,
literature review has been completed by making different themes. It has been done with the use
of number of secondary sources such as journals, books and online articles.

easier because human resource manager can easily post different job with the help of several
social media sites. It is common to use different social networking sites such as Facebook,
Twitter, LinkedIn and YouTube. 88% of the total population of UK has access to internet which
helps in accessing various social networking sited easily.
When, company post various job openings on sites like Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and
YouTube then many individuals can access those sites and post back on the same site (Bolton
and et.al, 2013). It makes it easier for the company to check the availability of job postings and

are identified by the company which meets the requirement of the company. It also widens the
scope fir HR department in making the recruitment of the employees in the company. As
discussed in literature review, the company an take help of various social sites such as,
Facebook, Twitter, Linkedin etc. Through the use of social media the HR department makes the
personal relations with the candidate who is seeking for the job and by that they can easily attract
towards wonderland. However, HR department fulfill their responsibilities by using effective
tools of social media. This proves to be effective to gain competitive edge in the marketplace.
The analysis part is showing that potential workforce can directly contact to organization like

by this they can easily solve their issues with the friends, top management and colleagues. The

revenue of firm. The social sites provide opportunity to company to know more about
customers so that better services can be provided to them in future. Such as prevailing trends,

employees and stimulate them to apply for the vacant job position. In this respect, Wonderland

From the critical assessment of the report, it can be stated that there are various areas in
which company is required to improve to gain fruitful outcomes. In this respect, company can
encourage its present employees to follow the organization through social sites like Facebook,
twitter and linkedin and share its post. This will help in improving brand recognition and thus
support recruitment and selection process of company. Further, company can provide incentive
to employees if they refer new candidate or participate in the companies recruitment social media
activity. Therefore, by incentivising company will be able to maintain the interest of present
employee and reduce the usual cost of recruitment. Other than sharing job related information,
company can also share pictures of its employees, their favorable opinions. In addition to this,
discussion can be done regarding the rewards, incentives, healthy working conditions that are
provided to employees. All these aspect will help in inviting maximum application from
potential candidates by building positive image of company in market. Company can share
image of its present employees with their due permission this is because social media click and
engagement rates enhance with the use of image and videos. Thus by visualizing the company
can convert potential employees to actual one and thus add worth to business. Therefore,
company can reach the maximum candidates with the help of social sites.
REFLECTION
The entire study being carried out has supported me to enhance my level of knowledge
along with the skills. Further, I acquired knowledge in relation with the social media marketing
and how this tool has acted as development tool for the entire event industry. Moreover, no doubt
the entire industry is developing as faster pace but promotion along with other form of marketing
tools are necessary so that information at faster pace can be delivered to target market in every
possible manner. Before, undertaking this research I was not having proper knowledge in
relation with this tool and its applicability. Therefore, this study provided base to me in knowing
about the social media practices of different firms and how they are able to gain competitive

advantage through its adoption. Moreover, adoption of social media within HR department has
also increased where with the help of this tool it becomes easy to attract more workforce. Apart
from this, I gained knowledge regarding the process through which aim and objective in the
research can be framed in better manner. The overall information acquired by me with the help
of literature review sources was also beneficial. Apart from the knowledge my skills were also
developed by undertaking this research. I was able to work on my research skills where I
accessed information from the various authentic sources and this in turn produced favorable
results for my entire research. On the other hand before undertaking this research I was totally
unaware about the research methodological. In short, this study provided me a base to apply
different type of tools on the basis of which I was able to gain expected findings.
The main barrier which was faced involves lack of methodological tools and due to this reason it
was not possible for me to apply different tools in the research. I gained knowledge in relation
with research philosophy, design, approach, sampling, data collection etc. So, the overall
knowledge gained will be beneficial for me in near future also where its applicability has
enhanced my confidence level. I can easily undertake different type of studies in near future also.
Apart from this, the implementation of research methodological tool was also effective for me
and it has supported in my personal development. Further, for data collection I designed
questionnaire and interacted with various individuals and this supported me in enhancing my
communication skills. Moreover, I can easily interact with different individuals and can collect
data from them in proper manner. Further, I undertook the data analysis part where different
themes were formed on the basis of information collected. This also supported me in conducting
the entire research in proper manner. I gained knowledge in relation with the appropriate tools
with the help of which data analysis can be undertaken and this assisted me in gaining expected
findings where were relevant for the research. On the other hand, while conducting the entire
research I focused on various areas where I am not able to perform better so that I can easily
undertake other studies in near future also.
