Now a day’s the social networking plays a vital role in one’s life. The importance of education,
email and business tools reflects the advanced technology used by businesses and organizations.
Social media connects people to discuss opinions and perceptions of individuals. Social media
impacts teenagers at a higher level rate and thereby there are negative and positive influence of
social media on teenagers. The emergence of social networking sites have gradually emerged but
the issues and problems exists in an organization with relative and accessible tools in the
business which has automated the process. The negative impact on teenagers is the basic concern
that is reflected in the report. The report consists the arguments and analysis of social media that
impact teenagers. The use of electronic tools have facilitated teenagers to access information.
This can be dangerous which can affect the relationship with others. The use of internet is
majorly for surfing, chatting, social networking, email and other activities. The report consist
detail analysis of the impact of social media on teenagers.

Positive and negative impact of social media
College students use social networks to surf the information and research on a topic. Teenagers
have even started using social networks to gain information and communicate with people while
accessing the social media sites. The gadgets that are needed are provided by parents such as
computers, iPads, laptops, etc. This idea is risky and impacts the educational classes of the
students which are easily explained by teachers in the classroom. Students can now communicate
information and share information with several social media sites such as Instagram, Facebook,
etc. The internet usage may gradually shift from finding relevant information to surfing and
chatting on social media network. The internet content and the downloading sources for studies
may be good at one point but may react in a negative manner instantly (Siddiqui & Singh, 2016).
There are negative effects of social media that are discussed. Teenagers get addicted to social
media and this may ensure that the other activities such as studying, playing and family time will
be left out.
Teenagers spend most of their time on social networking which diverts mind of a teenager and
the focus is really shifted from productive to unproductive activity. Invading on privacy

measures and illegal aspects, the reason that teenagers should avoid social media is that the
photos, videos and information is quickly spent which affects teenagers behavior rapidly. The
use of social media may abuse the society by invading on privacy context (Hamsa, Singh &
Panackal, 2018). The social life of teenagers is disturbed while it weakens on spending the time
with family and friends. False information can encourage other teenagers to use the images and
videos on social media. This is one such measure which should be controlled by parents in order
to reflect a change in teenagers while using social media networks. Facebook, YouTube,
SecondLife, MySpace, etc. should be avoided by teenagers but it is impossible for teachers and
parents to control the life of teenagers.
More than 75% of tens have cell phone and more than 88% of teenagers use social media
networking site. Social networking sites like MySpace and Facebook are used by 73% of teens.
For online video sites, 63% of teens watch videos online. The online gaming impacts the
teenagers with 61% which includes multiplayer online games. 52% of online teens use blogging
and social networking websites for commenting on MySpace and Facebook feature. There are
positive effects of social media which cannot be ignored. The positive effects of social media are
described. Social media helps people to stay connected and parents should allow teenagers to
connect on the social network sites after 18 years of age. At the same time, important support can
be gained by social networking sites which can prove that lack of traditional relationships can be
ignored. For information and advice, social networking sites can be a help for students as they
can interact and reach to any solution they need. Career objectives can be achieved while using
social media sites which can be helpful to attain the interest and knowledge of specific area
within minutes.
Social networking influence Teens’
Teenagers highly use social media networks as it ensures in providing communication and
information. There are high chances of new relationships that establish due to social networking
media. The abilities to achieve self-esteem is now reflected with high use of social media and
networking sites. The comparison of the use of social media and the impact of social networking
use is higher. This enables teenagers to use social media and highlights the impact on social
networking sites. Facebook is a representative site that impacts the teenagers self-esteem and
recognition. Self-esteem has become an enclave for successful relation. (Botou & Marsellos,

2018) The concept of ideal relationship and self improvement is correlated with self-esteem, The
battle of self-actualization has boosted the ideal self. The attitudes towards behavior and
character is reflected with high self-esteem which is relatively evaluated with the reactions of
teenagers on Facebook. Teenagers recognize themselves by establishing relationships and using
social network to communication and self-promotion. Teenagers tend to correlate the expression
and higher acceptance in social network.
Sleeping and studying time of teenagers is disturbed due to social network sites that alarm the
use of internet and social media network sites. Higher acceptance and social status of teenagers
are now linked with social media websites. The time spend on social media is minimum 30
minutes by a teenager on social media. Communication, searching for information and playing
video games online are the activities that are performed by teenagers. The social media network
presents the relationship of people and the form of discussion that creates recognition and self-
esteem for an individual. The ideas to express the emotions and needs are ensures in the part of a
group which leads to social comparison at one point. There are disadvantages of using social
media network which is significantly noted that a teenager self-evaluates and recognizes himself
as the part of social media network which becomes a compulsion to live a life that everyone is
enchanted to live. The standard of living even changed while observing the behavior of people.
Effect of social media on teenager’s education
Social networking is the new wave that have developed gradually with new benefits and
limitations. The process of communication has personally ensures the growth of the business
which is considerably the area of concern for information and connection on social media
network. Education of teenagers get affected due to intense use of social media network which
has rapidly grown into a major issue. The global consumers have gained importance while
spending long time on social media and working on social media networking websites in order to
increase the growing demand of social networking websites. The overall traffic on Facebook and
Instagram has grown over 5 years. The leader of social media website is Facebook that connects
people and provides information (Miah, Omar & Allison-Golding, 2013). Teenagers these days
are widely using the social media network while disturbing the education. As it is said, all things
have two effects positive and negative aspects are considered while using social media websites.
There are advantages while using social media network which is effectively observed with a

greater influence of internet access. The networking devices that are used are cell phones, tablets,
laptops, etc. Easy communication is established while using these aspects and it is easy to
communicate the wide audience instantly. The dangers of social media and the risk of social
media is not yet understood by teenagers. Displaying information, pictures and videos on social
media is unsafe practices that teenagers compromise their lives. The pollution by spam and virus
affects the social media websites. Virus causes the money stealing and computer hacking
activities while using social media website.

The influence of social media and its use have highly affected the standard of living of teenagers.
Teenagers spend lot of time on social media. The major focus on studies is disturbed and is tends
to affect the learning process. The disturbed nature of social media websites have changed the

and its influence. On the other hand, the positive aspects of using social media websites are
incredible in terms of providing relevant information and connecting with the people who
motivate and inspire while achieving career goals.

networking websites that are used are dangerous and have an impact on the risk for the
teenagers. Sleeping and studying time of students are used in spending time in social media
websites while playing games on internet and communicating with unknown people which does
not benefit the development of the students and teenagers. Teenagers always try to establish self-
esteem and recognition through Facebook and Instagram. This is the major change that is
observed in the economy while addressing social media’s negative impact.

reliable sources. A negative impact is reflected while using social media websites.

The perceptions of teenager for social media is to have an impact on social media by self-esteem
and recognition on Facebook and Twitter. Self-promotion and communication are associated
using social network. The increase in likes and tags in a post ensures the recognition and
promotion of teenagers. This seems to be a major change in behavior of teenagers while giving
importance to social media. Establishment of relationships on Facebook is an alarming as the
major time is spent on these activities. 87.1% use social media on daily basis.
Effect of social media on teenager’s education
Education and information are the major benefits that an individual receives from social media
network. There is tremendous use of social media by high school students and teens which
