Introduction
Technology has been constantly changing the lifestyle of individuals. Right from the
infrastructure to way of leading their life. Technology have been becoming an integral part of
people’s daily life and hence wise imposes a deep impact on functioning of the world. Despite
the fact that technology has been bringing in quite a lot of positive changes, it has its negative
side as well. Technological Zombies is a new issue that has been arising lately due to excess
usage of technologies namely phones, laptops, iPads and other gadgets like TVs. As per the
provided topic of Technological Zombies, I believe that Technological Zombies issue is to be
taken in a serious note and this issue has been getting wide spread in a very fast rate.
Discussion
As per the data generated from a research conducted by Delloite, it can be stated that
almost all the developed and developing country have been getting affected due to introduction
of Mobile phones. The main aspect that is considered that in case of the developed countries,
usage of smart phones has been as high as 80% and in developing countries the percentage of the
using smart phones in developing countries have been even higher than that of developed
countries (Robinson et al, 2015). There is a hike of over 2% of smart phone usage in developing
countries, marking the percentage to be 82%. Mobiles has been one of the major gadget that has
been leading to technological zombies. With the usage of technology it is seen that users might
have been blooming externally but internally they have been unhealthy, exhausted with fatigue.
These are the aspects that have been creating technological zombie amongst the mass (Chen et
al, 2017). With presence of 2.1 million apps present, technology have been surrounding each and
every individual for keeping each and every individual immersed in technology (Mobile internet

usage worldwide 2019). Connection in between the real world and virtual world has been getting
faded and individuals have been choosing virtual world over the real life world and similarly,
they have been virtual communication process over real communication process.
Reasons and facts
Three reasons for validity of the topic
Validity of the topic has been very high. The main reason of high validity is that this
topic has been a center of focus for research purpose. This issue of technology zombies have
been affecting the entire mass in a very high rate. Hence proper understanding of the symptoms
that leads to proper understanding of factors that are required to be focused on for mitigating this
issue. Despite the fact that technology have been providing benefits, growth of technological
zombies are needed to be mitigated.
Warning Signs
There are few signs that are getting visible in very high number of individuals. The sign
of uploading several selfie in Instagram has been one of the major signs that is noticed among
people who are diagnosed with this Technology Zombie issue. This symptom has been visible in
many individuals. The major risks that is present due to this symptom is presence of Narcissism.
Lowering of self esteem and obsessive compulsive disorder will also be another issue that might
arise. As per statistics, it is seen that in Instagram, over 1.39 selfies are posted by each
individuals weekly (Woodruff, Santarossa & Lacasse 2018). This calculation is an average of the
selfies being posted in regular basis. It is seen that few personnel has been posting a total of 3-4
selfies in a week whereas few users are not even uploading a single selfie in a week. The rate of

people uploading photos have been increasing in a massive rate and hence the growth in number
of technological zombies have been increasing as well (McCoy 2016 ).
Again it is seen that people who have been abducted with technological zombies,
distracted walking has been considered as a major sign of being a technological zombie. It is
seen that the number of digital deadwalkers has been increasing in a rapid rate. In this case the
main issue that arises is that, one is not well informed of the social wellbeing and surrounding
that is present. In this case the main aspect that will be considered is that accidents can take place
and hence wise this will be considered as a major issue. It seen that a total of almost 6000
pedestrian deaths have been caused in the year 2017 and this rate has been increasing in the year
of 2018 and the rise rate was drastic (Fairburn & Patel 2017). It was noted that a total of almost
7450 people have died due to dead walking. In the year 2017, more than 36% of traffic death
were due to technological deadwalking (Pedestrian Safety 2019). From the above data it can be
stated that rate of technological zombie rate has been increasing in an exponential rate.
Increase in rates of digital zombies has also been also resulting in usage of the zombie
computers. In this case the main aspect that is considered that computers of individuals have
been affected with malicious software. Presence of these software turns a computer into a
zombie computer. Even for gaming purpose it is seen that individuals have been spending 10
hours a day. This leads to the fact that a new disease named anxiety disorder is caused. This
disease is caused in the individuals of age group beneath 11 years. Almost 80% of people who
are diagnosed with this disease due to excess gaming has been affected before 11 years (Bender
2016). It is also seen that these gamers do not want to perform proper social interaction among
their friends. This is the main reason that the functional process is needed to be acknowledged

with higher integrity. The main aspect that has been creating tension among the mass is that the
number of people who are affected by them has been increasing in a higher rate.
Effect
As it can be seen that due to excess indulgence with technology growth of technology
zombies have been increasing and hence wise the effects that are caused are also increasing.
Risk of Narcissism, Lower Self –esteem, obsessive compulsive disorder, Social anxiety
disorder, Insomnia and Paranoid disorder have been the major issues that are caused due to the
occurring of the technological zombie issue (Lewandowska-Bernat & Desideri 2018). These
diseases are caused due to the excess involvement with technology and less interaction with
people in social ground. Missing of physical activities and communication with real world has
been the main reason for this issue.
The reasons that are stated above depicts that excess usage of technology and staying
emerged in the same is harmful. Hence maintaining a proper relationship in between virtual
world and real world is important (Robinson et al, 2015). This maintaining of a gap in between
the real and virtual world will be benefitting the individuals in staying both internally and
externally fit. Again with the help of the proper maintaining the gap in between digital world and
real world, issues that are created in technological zombie can be mitigated (Hermsen et al,
2016).
With days passing by the main aspect that is considered is that management of time
scaling and proper diversification of process will be benefitting the global audience. This will be
providing higher consistency in lifestyle of individuals (Davies, Coleman & Livingstone 2015).

Possible Objections
The sole possible objection that can be stated by oppositions is that technology has quite
a lot of advantages, which are worth taking the risk of suffering from Technological zombie
issues. The benefits that are received from regular usage of technology is very high.
In that case it can be stated that technology has been introduced for bettering the lifestyle
and making the life comfortable. In case of excess usage of technology and suffering from
technological zombie issue, there is no point is harming oneself. Usage of technology for better
structuring of life is expected but incorporating technology to one’s lifestyle in a manner that
they might face physical as well as psychological issues is something that is not expected from
technology. It is easily understood that that the technological zombies will be having a negative
impact on their lifestyle as well as the society will be affecting. These aspects are considered as a
major reason that proper concern is needed to be provided.
Conclusion
From the above discussion, it can be concluded that Technological Zombie has been an
issue that has been acting as a major issue that has been worrying the entire world. Scientists and
big brands have been performing their regular duties for understanding the major issues that are
leading to the performing of the technological zombie issue. Despite the advantages that are
received due to the usage of technology in daily life can never be left unacknowledged, however
the main concern of this argumentative research is that proper gap must be established. In case a
proper gap is not established, both physical and mental aspects are harmed. This is one of the
major reason that proper assessment as per mitigation of the technological zombie is important.
