IMPACT OF TECHNOLOGY ON SOCIETY
Answer to Question 1:
The video relates to the contemporary organizational behavior issues or challenges faced
by the society. Due to the increase in technology and globalization in the current scenario, the
behaviors of the individuals are rapidly changing affecting their productivity and efficiency. The
one thing about human nature is that we are born talkers and the urge to communicate is
universal. The opportunity to stay connected is limitless as 12 million of text messages are sent
worldwide everyday making us at risk of becoming digital dummies. Communication technology
has blanket the world with 3 billion cell phone users and over 1 billion personal computers users
(YouTube, 2018). The people uses more than 10 hours in surfing, networking and surfing online.
The rapid increase in sell of smart phones and tablet is huge in the recent times. Employee’s
productivity is affected due to the digital technologies. It further affects the individual personal
life besides the professional life. This increases the stress level of the people by decreasing their
job satisfaction, life satisfaction due to marital complex (Brotchie et al., 2017). The blackberry is
nicknamed as crackberry due to the addiction of people toward their phones, which put a
negative impact on their life. The families are now more connected to technology than each other
Answer to Question 2:
The information about the impact of technology on society contributed by the video is
validating as well as very crucial for the future generation. In the current scenario, Technology
usage is specially affecting the younger children leading to huge disconnection. Always online
work ethics can prove to be fatal for the business organizations. It is the productivity paradox as
actually the more the people invest in technology the less productive they become. It is really a
growing concern that the world is gradually turning into a distracted nation (Webb, 2018). The
emphasis is shifting from the deep thinking to attaining superficial knowledge fast and it is a
problem that the brain could not keep up with all the modern domain needing attention.
Technology is affecting the brain and worsening the health of the people. The more the people
are connected to technology and information overload, the more people tends to live virtually,
which is a major threat for the human life (Pagani & Pardo, 2017). People exposed to various

IMPACT OF TECHNOLOGY ON SOCIETY
Answer to Question 3:
Researcher believes that illusions of remembering or recalling anything while using the
cell phones can be dangerous for human health. The ability of multitasking especially using
smart phones while driving is extremely dangerous. Texting while driving has lead to major
accidents throughout the world making headlines (Nixon & Spector, 2014). The young and
middle aged people multitasking are more prone of making errors. According to scientist while
multitasking with technology partial and continuous attention is given to various tasks
simultaneously that increases stress, which further leads to the shrinkage of the brain causing
memory loss. The people should limit their multitasking to increasing their efficiency in a
particular task. The persons multitasking with technology are more easily distracted and have
more problems remembering and juggling tasks then those who don’t. In October 2009, on a
flight from San Diego two pilots were busy in their laptops and missing their destination and
ultimately were suspended for their recklessness.
The people addicted to these digital technologies are getting treated in Los Angeles, just a
few kilometers away from Microsoft Head office. The internet addiction recovery program has
now attracted international attention. Adult clients move in and the cost up to $27,000 for a 90
days stay (YouTube, 2018). This approach is proving to be fruitful by saving number of lives
addicted to internet. The addicted persons are allowed to have clarity of thoughts by keeping
them away from absence of technology and focus on their purpose of life. Surprisingly, internet
addiction is not a recognized affliction but it should be considered as one. Youngsters are now
suffering from music attention deficit disorder as the technologies have shortened the attention
span of youth. Several new accessories have been invented to use the smart phones in a more
comfortable manner. In the recent times, the students are spending more times in social
networking rather than studying and fulfilling the career goals. The regional assembly of text is
an organization that works with information and knowledge away from the technological use
(Pinder, 2014). It is a critical situation, as it is the people that should mange technology and not
vice-versa. If it is the latter that is technology managing the individuals then the people are
doomed to anxiety and stress. The brain should be kept away from the machines of information
for the betterment of society and improving their standard of living.
