INTRODUCTION:
The activity that requires physical involvement and skills is known as sports. Sports is
one of the most competitive events. The significance of sports in any individual’s life is
immense. There are numerous advantages that sports bring in an individual’s life. As the
sports requires excessive physical fitness, so it insists individual to stay healthy. Before
technological boom the individuals especially students use to spend times in sports, but things
changed when world entered in 21st century. In the beginning of 21st century world saw
various inventions in terms of technology. The most notable invention is the internet network.
On the basis of internet many new things entered in the market and online games and video
games are one of them. The introduction of video games or PC games or online games
disrupts the normal flow of human society. The students especially indulge themselves into
these games. These actually restricting the students to indulge themselves in other physical
activities. Thus, the problems like health issues, mental disorder and other such things are
started becoming common among the students. Thus, the significance of sports among
students is disappearing.
This report wants to search the effects of technology in sports and whether it is bad or
good for the society.
IMPACT OF TECHNOLOGY IN SPORTS:
“In recent period of time technology affected almost everything in the world. The
involvement of technology can also be seen in the world of sports. Dye to the advancement of
technology the spectators are very accustomed to get the information almost in real time. The
development of technology especially in forecasting of different sports is immense. The
involvement of sports can also be seen in the sports. The technology like VR or speedometer

is in use in almost every outdoor sport (Allen et al 2015). The introduction of such
technology reduced the chances of error that were common in different sporting event.

ADVANTAGES OF TECHNOLOGY IN SPORTS FOR STUUDENTS:
The advancement in technology in sports proved to be very advantageous. Thev main
advantages of technology in sports are as follows:
Digital and Social Media:
The improvement in technology is mainly visible in digital and social media.
In today’s world the sports coverage is far more extensive. The options available to
the spectators are immense. The coverage is available in every place and every time.

technology used by media enables them to show the event almost in real time. The
technology also enables the viewers to record the sporting event. The rise in
technology also enables the fans to get connected with their favourite club (Stamp et
al 2015). Thus, the enthusiasm among the fans about their favourite clubs also
increases by considerable means.
The use of social media in the sports is one of the major steps that assists the
sports to gain more popularity. The use of social media in the sports also enables the
spectators to get directly involved with the club and can even communicate with the
club. The fans can directly get connected with their favourite clubs and players.
Buying Ticket:
The improvement of technology in every aspect of this world actually. Before
the development of internet networking buying tickets for any sporting event was a
hassle. After the introduction of technology this thing changed, as an individual can
easily avail the tickets through internet. The cost that are associated with buying
tickets are also being mitigated through online ticket buying system.
After the introduction of social media, sports club can easily sell their tickets
through all this social media website. The fans around the world can easily avail the
tickets just by few clicks (Forrester and Scott 2013). There are many applications in
the internet that directly assists the fans to purchase the tickets.
Equipment:
The innovation in technology also helps to increase the quality of equipment
that are used in the sports. The improvement in different category of equipment assists
the game altogether.

DISADVANTAGES OF TECHNOLOGY IN SPORTS:
As per the analysis there are several disadvantages of technology in sports. The
disadvantages in technology actually affecting the youth of any country. These
disadvantages are as follows:
Inactive:
The introduction of indoor sports like video games and online games actually
making the students more inactive in nature. The major problem that are associated
with the inactiveness is the health issue. This is the only reason; obesity is becoming
is one of the major problems among the youth. The lack of physical activities
depleting the immune system of the youth. The rise in such problems are major
concern as it actually harming the future of human beings.
Behavioural and Mental Changes:
The playing of video games for an elongated period of time increases the
stress level, which directly affects the behaviour of the gamer. It is seen that the
students who spends lots of time Infront of video games they usually becomes very
violent, introvert and easily lose interest on anything. It is also seen that gamers
usually have under personality disorder.
Poor Academic Performance:
It is often seen that the students who are gamers have considerably gets below
average marks in academics (Bailey and Richard 2016). The main reason behind such
low performance in academics is due to the less growth of brain. The concentration
power of thus student is on rise, but they lose interest very easily.

CONCLUSION:
After analysing the whole report, it can be determined that the technology has
improved the human civilization by considerable means, but it also brought considerable
amount disadvantages with it. The technological development in the sports may increase the
quality of the sports and increases the business of the sports. The popularity of the sports also
increases due to the rise in the technology. The rise in the popularity of video games among
the students led to the rise in different problems like health problem and mental problem.
Thus, it is very necessary for the students to involve in outdoor games, so that they can
mitigate such problems. The outdoor games will also ensure the student to dave themselves
from obesity and mental illness.
