Background of research
Hospitality sector has taken the advantage of internet to a large extent. It has
implemented various tools and applications in their services in order to improve the quality of
services. Apart from this, digital technology has provided a platform to hospitality sector to
expand their operations in different fields (Bryman and Bell, 2015). Moreover, the
implementation of applications has allowed hotels to integrate their efforts so that services can be
delivered in proper time intervals. Mostly, small and medium sized hotels have been benefited by
the digital technology. Due to increase in efficiency of services, staff performance has also
improved. Also, it has led to increase in customer satisfaction and retention as well. Besides this,
internet has allowed hotel to develop own website. It has enabled customers to pre book rooms
according to their requirements. The data and information is also updated. This allows staff to
prepare rooms accordingly. Along with this, the use of different applications has increased
communication in between the staff. This has enhanced the overall hotel’s productivity. This has

given positive results in housekeeping services (Pellikka and Ali-Vehmas, 2016) However,
digitalisation in hotel has also given several challenges.
Rationale of research
This research will help in identifying the positive and negative impact of implementation
of triton software in housekeeping services. How it has helped in increasing staff efficiency and
integrating various operations. Besides this, research will give some recommendations on how

proper measures. Besides this, it helps researcher to set aim and objectives so that the same can
be achieved easily. These are as follows:-
Cost – It refers to the total cost through which research will be conducted. It helps in
analysing the overall cost that will be needed (. Kloppenborg and Manolis, 2014) Also, it helps
in segregating the resources that are required in each activity. The estimated cost required for
overall project is 500 Euros.

Time- This is the most crucial element in research. It helps in identifying the time

needed to complete an activity. Thus, by setting time frame, research can be conducted in a

Quality – This element is related to the results that are achieved after completion of
research. The quality of research can be maintained by collecting fresh and specific data. It will
help in getting precise and specific results.
Scope- It is related to achieve the goals and objectives of research and for how much time
those results will be valid (Bouazza and Greenwood, 2016) From the results achieved, hotel can
implement information technology infrastructure in order to maintain the efficiency of digital
technology. Besides this, hotel can follow the recommendations that are given by researcher.
Risk – While conducting a research, risk is always involved in this. Thus, it is essential
that business must identify the risk and minimise it. This will help in maintaining research
quality so that effective outcomes can be achieved. Basically, there are two main elements of risk
which are time and cost. A research may take a lot of time in doing any activity (Mrass, Peters
and Leimeister, 2018) This will lead to increase the cost. Therefore, by doing risk assessment,
impact of risk can be minimised.
Resources – Besides cost, resources are also required in the research. Researcher can

time and cost and also given effective results. Besides this, research methodology also helps in
determining research methods, procedures, etc. that has to be followed. The brief description of

Research philosophy:- It shows how entire research will be conducted by collecting data,
hypotheses and analysing data. Usually, there are two types of research philosophies that is
positivism and interpretivisim (Walker, de Vries and Nilakant, 2017) For present research
interpretivism approach is used. It will help in giving
Research design:- It refers to design through which components of research is related with one
another. Generally, there are two types of research design used. It is descriptive, coo-relational,

experimental., etc. In present study researcher will use descriptive research design. This will help
him to show impact of Triton software in housekeeping.
Research approach: It refers to the research plan in which step by step method is followed by
researcher to conduct research. Inductive and deductive are two kinds of approach. For present
study researcher will use inductive approach. It will help in developing aims, objectives and
research questions.
Research strategy - It is a plan that helps researcher to achieve aims and objectives of research.
Moreover, it helps in systematic conduction of research. Quantitative and qualitative are two
research strategy (Lientz and Rea, 2016) In this researcher will use quantitative strategy and
collecting data through questionnaire.
Data collection- the data collection refers to method through data is collected. It helps in
researcher to gather precise and specific data. There are many methods of collecting data that is
questionnaire, interviews, surveys, etc. But for this researcher will collect data by using
questionnaire method.
Data sampling – It is method in which a small strata is selected from population. This can be
done by applying various methods such as random, stratified, etc. (Norta and Narendra, 2014)
for this research, researcher will use randomly select 10 employees who are working in
housekeeping in St. James hotel.
Data analysis- Data must be analysed so that it helps in getting precise and specific results. It is
a process of analysing and interpreting data in effective manner. The researcher will analyse data
by using thematic analysis.
