Re: Implementation of a Tourism Plan for local development
The OHIO state tourism board has been undergoing some serious problems which have
led to the down gradation of the tourism economy of the particular region ion USA. The tourism
board of the mentioned region has been facing lots of problems and they are finding it hard to
revive the industry to its glorious days. The main reason behind the sudden degradation in the
tourism market has been mainly due to the absence of a proper and efficient form of marketing
from the part of the local government as well as the tourism authority which takes care of all the
basic needs of the tourism activities in the region. Apart from the absence of such an initiative, a
recent problem in the form of Algae has crept up in the region. Lake Erie, one of the most
prominent attractions of this Midwestern US state, has been filled up with algae for quite a long
time now which has caused problems for both tourism and has also affected business. The
fishing business and the boat sightseeing by the tourists have come to a standstill as because the
thick undergrowth of algae plants in the lake has prevented the movement of any water
transportation. A large section of the tourists have turned their back from Ohio which has led to
the fall in the economy of the mentioned region. An immediate action is the need of the hour to
boost the already present tourism infrastructure of the state. A continuous funding process and
the attraction of private as well as foreign direct investment is utmost necessary to sponsor all the
tourism needs of Ohio.

Introduction
The proposal is based on the explanation of the different problems that is faced by the
Tourism state of Ohio. The investigator has highlighted the absence of some of the most basic
marketing elements in the tourism industry and has termed them as the main reasons for the
sudden downward movement of the tourism industry of Ohio (Brida, Cortes-Jimenez & Pulina,
2016). A recent report has claimed that there has been a strong sense of dissatisfaction among the
tour operators in this part of America as there has been a lack of proper government interference
to improve the current state of affairs and attract more and more tourists in the region. The
research work will be considering a much bigger viewpoint and will also provide a much bigger
scope for future researches on the same topic.
Current Situation
The current situation in the Ohio state is no less than worst. This has happened due to the
non-utilization of the different tourism infrastructure, the absence of a proper form of marketing
and promotion to promote the vast tourism infrastructure within the state (Ali, Ryu & Hussain,
2016). However the recent problems have been quite disturbing and have caused quite turbulence
in the industry. The problems with the growth of Algae in Lake Erie have been causing problems
for the tourism industry as because it has stopped the movement of the tourist boats across the
waters. According to Ali, Ryu & Hussain (2016) there has been a serious lack of interest from
the part of the local self government to improve the current situation.

Rationale
The current situation can be improved by a proper and efficient form of research that will
determine all the necessary problems as well as make a proper form of recommendation to
change the situation. The current crisis situation in Ohio and the failure of the authorities to
address the situation in a constructive manner have led to the downfall in the number of tourists
in the area. The following research seeks to determine the various issues as well as their
solutions. The effective outcomes will help the concerned authorities to maintain a well balanced
tourism and gain enough revenue for the betterment of the place.

The research work that will be carried out will be having a proper action plan that will
help to overcome the necessary barriers present within the industry. The main aim of the research
is to create a decentralized tourism planning that will attract private as well as foreign investors
who are keen to change the spot and turn it into a hotspot for tourists. The investor should also
come into an agreement with the necessary state authorities to maintain the lake and preserve its
rich eco system (Taylor, Bogdan & DeVault, 2015). The presence of a considerable amount of
financial backing will help the tourism industry get back its actual glory.
