Injury management policy
Policy statement – The XYZ company is committed to health, safety and wellness of its
workers and makes effort to provide healthy and safe working environment.
Reason for policy – The main purpose is to establish Injury Management expectations of
the firm.
Policy standards – At the time of any accident in the workplace than immediate
investigation will be done for identifying the root cause of the accident. The findings will
be forwarded to the clients and suitable documentation will be filed. Further, the company
will also support the worker in their return to work or stay at home program.
Injury management – Minor injury at the workplace will be treated with available first
aid kit and for major injury doctors will be called. In case of a lost time injury than such
kind of injuries are required to be reported to supervisor and an injury accident report from
is completed.
Treatment of injuries – Minor injury at the workplace will be treated with available first
aid kit and major injury will be treated with nearest doctor. Further, for serios or fatal
injuries or accidents, the management of the company needs to be informed immediately.
Duties of supervisor – Making sure suitable supply of kinds of forms are present at all the
locations, for medical aid it is important to complete the form 7 that is Employer’s Report
of Injury or Occupational Disease, recording of all the details of the accident and
monitoring the condition of the injured workers.
Duties of employees – Immediately reporting of the incident to the supervisor, completion
of the form 6A that is Employee’s Report of Injury or Occupational Disease, recording of
all details in the first aid book, seeking attention of the first aid attendant and advise
Supervisor of the nature of treatment.
Record keeping needs – First aid book requirements which includes the name of the
injured worker, date and time of injury, how injury took place, name of any witness etc.
