Abstract
Artificial intelligence has become one tremendous evolution in the computer science due to
its nature of simulating the human intelligence. The programs and the algorithms use to
design it, helps it to perform comparatively error free and faster work as compared to
humans. However, there exist argument over the use of AI systems into the workplace as it
leads to unemployment. Nevertheless, these systems are widely being adopted by several
industries to simplify their organizational work. Several surveys has conducted to provide
support to this issue. The wide advantages of this suppress the limitations. Furthermore, to
use more accurate AI systems, pre-release trial as well as post release monitoring is
necessary.

In today’s era, wide ranges of technologies are there, efficiently serving the purposes
and needs of different people in different fields. Regardless of how big or small the field is,
the IT technologies have evolved as integral to everybody. Artificial intelligence is an
important part of computer science, which evidences of creating intelligent machine (Russell
& Norvig, 2016). The designing intention of this machine is to react as well as work like
humans. This position paper will intended to evaluate the development, modification as well
as the adoption of AI in several field. Apart from that, this paper will critically analyse both
sides of the discussed issue along with necessary course of actions.
Discussion
Background information of AI
AI is nothing but a human-like intelligent machine designed to simulate the human
intelligence by using machines. Previous researches have stated that this particular process
comprises with learning by acquitting the information, along with reasoning and self-
correction. According to Goertzel (2014), the entire concept of AI has broadly classified into
two types, that is narrow AI and strong AI. The narrow AIs has trained and designed in order
to perform particular tasks whereas, the strong AIs are the general intelligence systems that
has trained to perform human intellective abilities. The application of AI has dominant in
several fields such as, vision systems, expert systems, gaming, language processing systems
and many other fields. The working method of AI follows the process of combining the data
with intelligent algorithms and iterative processing to create a propensity model that makes
the predictions. Researches have stated that using AI can lead to compress the amount of
error, faster decisions and comparatively more accurate work than humans do.

Application of AI can be advantageous to the society. As the above statistical data given by
Ransbotham et al. (2017), the organizations will definitely become beneficial from the
particular technology as it provides competitive advantages; reduce production cost and other
advantages to enhance the organizational activities. Apart from that, the survey says that
introducing AI to the workplace can increase the productivity as the systems has designed to
perform efficiently and accurately without any break by eliminating several workplace issues.

Critically analysing the use of AI
AI has shown its importance in numerous fields, yet it is important analyse both sides
of using it. Artificial intelligence is intended to perform human cognitive activities in a more
effective way that is, using it can result into making faster and accurate decisions with less
error (Vassilyev et al., 2017). Apart from that, AI has turned into a blessing as it has shown
its presence to simplify the daily applications in terms of okay google, Siri, Cortana and
many more. Moreover, unlike humans, it can perform 24*7 without taking any break
minimizing the risk issue in the workplace (Strong, 2016). Additional to it, the presence of AI
in the medical applications nullify the risk of false diagnosis and can conduct semi-automated
surgeries. The absence of emotions in these systems can be advantageous in some cases as AI
systems can take decisions logically, unlike humans, whose emotional decisions might affect
the organization’s productivity.
However, the vital limitation that comes with AI is that, replacing humans with AI
can lead to unemployment. Furthermore, these technologies can perform as intended by the
program or algorithm that is it is unable to think out of box. It completely dependent on how
efficiently and correctly the program has written; one small mistake in the program can
disable the entire system. Apart from that, high cost adds another limitation to it.
Conclusion
Artificial intelligence or machine intelligence is one vital area of computer science,
which contrast the concept of natural intelligence. AI has listed numerous evidence by
proving its accuracy and effectiveness in simulating the human intelligence. The expansion of
it towards automation, robotics, self-driving cars, creating smart home and many others are
creating evolution in the technological field. Nevertheless, the cost effectiveness and lack of
feelings adds limitations to it.

In order to create more accurate AI systems, attentive pre-release trials should be
undertaken before its releasing and a continuous monitoring after its releasing is required to
ensure an amplified performance. A rigorous attention is needed for creating fair and safe
ethical codes related to it (Acemoglu & Restrepo, 2018). Currently, the established methods
of assessing as well as measuring the impact associated to AI systems used in particular
social context is missing; hence, strong and effective standards for understanding and
auditing the use of this system need to be created.
