Peacock, (2017) argues that, in any profession that deals with children, one
requires a set of plans that he or she need to achieve at any particular time. Children goes
with whatever activity they come across at any moment. It suggests that if there are no set
goals, nothing can be achieved at the end of the day. In this assignment, it is going to deal
with three main goals in working with children.
1. Technical goals
Technical goals focus on teaching children on how to handle physical materials.
An example is to teach children how to hold a pencil while writing when you are in
teaching profession. Many children are not physically trained by their parents on how to
hold the pen according to Bekker, Bakker, Douma, Van Der Poel & Scheltenaar, (2015).
Therefore, the first aim is to physically elaborate on them on how they should place a pen
while writing after which the will be able to write their names. At any profession, telling
children the objective of what you are doing is an important issue. All children will strive
to achieve the same goal even if it means going beyond the limitations. At the end of the
day, the aim in our profession will be achieved.
2. Teaching the children mastery skills
Gregg, (2017) argues that, cognitive goal aims at helping the children to develop
competency skills. As a professor in any field, it is important to test the memory of the
child. Testing competency would help the children to have a sharp memory that able to
remember past activities and relate them with the current ones. For instance, you can
organize memory games repeatedly to sharpen the brain of the child. It does not focus on
cramming but its s a general idea that will assist the child even at home. The importance
of focusing on mastery skills is that, it will make the process of impacting skills take

shorter time as compared to doing without. For instance, if it is a teaching profession,
syllabus coverage would be done on time because the children have mastered the way
they should carry out. On the other hand, the interaction between the professor and the
children would have improved.
3. Training the children on language
Communication is a very important issue in learning according to Williams,
(2015). In every session, the child and the teacher would communicate from time to time
to ensure the child gets the required skills. In any profession, the leader would be asking
various questions and children are expected to respond. However, the issue would how
they should respond. The aim here is to impact children with skills which will help to
know how to respond to various questions at any particular time. There are a number of
skills such as ability to respond publicly with etiquette. Address older people in a
responsible manner. The way communication improves work in any profession is that,
there will be no misunderstanding between the professor and the children. All the
children would have mastered the way to respond. Secondly, there will be a lot of respect
and from there achieving the expectation would be easy at any scenario.
