It is very important to have an effective communication within the organization. This
is one of the most important aspect that should be considered and implemented in the all the
organization. Any miscommunication amongst the members of the company can lead to
severe downfall of the business. The company has to ensure that the communication between
all the departments of the organization including the hierarchy has to be very effective as this
will help the company to understand the various loopholes amongst the employees and rectify
them. The importance of the communication and the strategies that the company will
implement in order to have good revenue generation and interpersonal relation of the
employees will be highlighted. The topic for this essay is the importance of communication
in the workplace and the benefits that can be acquired due to the effective flow of
communication. This essay will critically evaluate the importance of effective
communication in the workplaces. This will also unfold the importance of effective
communication and the advantages that the companies can achieve through the flow of
effective communication will also be discussed.
The concept of effective communication is very important for the organization to
understand and implement that in their management, this will enable the company to
understand the various issues that the employees are experiencing, their opinions and their
preferences will come to notice of the organization. The policies or strategies that the
authority formulates have to be rightfully conveyed to the employees, the company practices
strategies like conferences, annual meetings and often hold individual meeting to understand
the position of the employees and whether they have clearly understood the policies of the
company or not (Husain, 2013). Effective and proper flow of communication also helps the
company to perform in an organized pattern, which will be beneficial for the company in
terms of their annual turnover. Communications are of two types that are formal and
informal. Informal communication is mainly practiced amongst colleagues, peers but for
effective and stringent pattern of communication, formal communication is mainly practiced
in organizations as well as in other official environment (Genç, 2017). There are employees
belonging from different cultural background but working in a team for the achievement of
the organizational goals, hence; a common language should be made compulsory for the
employees to understand and communicate amongst themselves. Hence; the company must
conduct verbal communication to make the employees understand the efforts that thy need to
put for achieving the goals of the company. Failure of maintaining clear and open
communication system in the organization can lead to many negative outcome. Develops job

satisfaction the organization must practice a clear and easy flow of communication amongst
all the departments of the company. Informal communication amongst the fellow employees
can help in motivating each other, and this can also help in solving the issues that they have.
The work environment should also be welcoming to the new employees and the approach to
each other must be positive. The subordinates must be encouraged by their team lead and by
their colleagues. The issues related to work must be referred, solved by others. This also
helps in motivating the employees and their willingness to perform their duties increases.
Thus, active communication in the organization helps in building and maintaining trust and
loyalty, which gradually leads to job satisfaction of the employees (Burgoon, Guerrero &
Floyd, 2016).
Increase in productivity effective communication leads to the growth of the business.
Each company has its targets, objective and vision that they have to achieve, which the
authorities must circulate effectively amongst the employees in order to make them
understand the efforts that they need to provide for the attainment of it. There can be many
non verbal communication through mails, performance reports that the authority can provide
to the employees highlighting on their strengths and weaknesses of their performance and the
rectification that can be done on their performance. Thus, the productivity of the company is
largely dependent on proper and organized communication system of an organization. Lesser
arguments a proper communication practice can help the company in avoiding conflicts and
arguments in the different departments of the company. This also helps in mutual conclusions
of both the employees and the authorities. Proper usage of the resources the effective and
organized utilization of the resources can make the company earn good revenue from the
industry. Issues or conflicts arising from miscommunication can bring a halt in the
productivity, which can make the company suffer huge losses, the technical communication
can be helpful for the employees understand the importance of the resources and the
advancements that the company is planning to implement (Martin & Nakayama, 2013). This
also leads to wastage of the resources in order to have a good working environment effective
communication is very essential. The resources have to be utilized properly and strategically.
Few barriers have also been identified that can cause disturbance in the flow of
communication. There are environmental and personal barriers existing within the company
(Welford, 2016).
Emotional barriers are the barriers that occur due to the incapability of the
wmployees to handle extreme work pressure and they tend to feel demotivated. The

employees cannot adapt the mental and extreme professionalism that exist in the
organization. The emotional barrier is also emerges from different personalities of the
individuals some are extreme introvert and feel uncomfortable to share their problems. Few
employees experience problem in following instructions (Lundgren & McMakin, 2018). The
employees assume to experience humiliation if they raise queries to their contemporaries or
to their seniors. Personal barriers, in these individuals may feel that their opinions or
preferences are not being valued and this may give rise to many conflicts and unwillingness
to be associate with the organization this can lead to an increase in attrition of the employees.
The employees can also feel biasedness in the company, they might feel demotivated, and
dissatisfaction towards their duties thus this might lead to low productivity of the company.
The informal communication is very helful in making the employees realize their mistakes
and motivated by constant encouragement. (Sugai, Deptula, Parsa & Parsa, 2013). These
barriers can be controlled by the implementation of few strategies. Eradication of the
environmental barriers can be done by conducting conferences that will help them in
understanding the policies of the company and the efforts that is required from them in order
to gain the targeted goals. The employees with such issues must be given proper training in
order to make him/her understand the procedures. Eradication of personal barriers if the
opinions of the each employee is heard by the authorities and valued at the same time. The
issues that the employee is facing must be immediately considered, and assisted by the
contemporaries or by the team leads (Stegaroiu & Talal, 2014). The employees must be
motivated and the HR must supervise that the authorities are practicing no biasedness
(Kramer, 2014).
The conclusion that can be drawn from the following essay is that the importance of
effective communication in an organization is clearly discussed. The different boons that the
company experience due to practicing of effective communication has been elaborately
discussed in the essay. There are also certain hindrances that makes the effective
communication to a halt, which can have severe downfall in future for the business. The
remedial measures or the strategies are also stated in the essay. This will help the companies
to expand as well as cater to the needs and requirements of the employees as well which can
decrease the attrition rate as well.
