highly motivated employees which are productive and encouraged to work enthusiastically
towards accomplishment of organisational goals. It also creates satisfied employee base and
reduce absenteeism of employees at workplace (Lau, and Roopnarain, 2014).
Different ways to motivate employees at workplace
As per the view point of Naile and Selesho, (2014), there are different ways that an
organisation can use to motivate employees and keep them satisfied. Providing employees with
monetary and non-monetary rewards is one of the way that helps in effectively motivating the
employee. Rewarding employees will help in improving the motivation level satisfy them as
satisfied employees are more encouraged to work effectively towards achieving organisational
goals. Appreciating and recognising employees for the work they have done is also the way to
motivate employees. Firm can appreciate workers for their good performance. This helps in
creating a sense of belongingness among them and they stay happy and satisfied at workplace.
Enable positive communication at workplace is also the way to motivate employees. If good
communication takes place in the organisation, all the information provided to them will be clear
and transparent that helps in understanding their roles and responsibilities appropriately and
performing them effectively. Providing employees with healthy workplace also helps in
motivating them encouraging them to perform well. It improves their productivity and
performance (Mostafa, GouldWilliams and Bottomley, 2015).
Relationship between employee motivation and success of business
As per the view point of Pinder, (2014), employee motivation and success of business are
directly proportional to each other. They are interlinked with one another. As motivated
employees are within organisation, as much as the chances of organisation to get success. If
employees are motivated within the organisation, then they work more effectively and highly
contribute in attaining success. When they are motivated to work, the put their complete efforts
in performing a task which are allotted to them. For each organisation, satisfaction of workforce
is very necessary as it leads them towards positive growth and success. Motivation can support
an individual in attaining their personal goals as well as self-development. Once the initial goals
will be mitigating by the employees, they realise link between results and their efforts which will
again motivate them to contribute their whole efforts towards accomplishment of organisational
as well as personal goals. The qualifications and abilities are not only the basis of efficiency
level of employees, but a good balance between ability and willingness to perform a particular

task is also necessary. This will lead to enhance productivity along with improve efficiency
which ultimately leads organisation towards high success. So, it can be said that there is high link
between motivated employees and success of a company as one factor completely depends on
another (Robescu and Iancu, 2016).
RESEARCH METHODLOGY
Research Methodology covers all the approaches, methods and techniques that are used
by researchers in order to gain crucial information about the research topic. Hence, in context to
this, below is a detailed insight within the type of research methods and information that is being
used for this research:
Types of Research Methods
There are different types of research methods that are used by individuals depending upon
the topic and nature of information required to be gathered. Hence, in context to this, these types
are explored as under:
Qualitative Research: This type of research is the one which is exploratory in nature and
tends to analyse and evaluate set phenomenon in qualitative terms, i.e., in a rather more
descriptive manner rather than numeric. One of the positive elements associated with this
type of research is that there are no limitations in gathering information as there are no
limited methods and hence, effective explanations could be given. Moreover, this adds
flexibility in the approach towards data analysis. However, one disadvantage related to
the same is that this type of research could easily be influenced towards gaining an
anticipated outcome. Moreover, the spectrum of this research is narrow due to limited
sample size and questions (Strauss, Parker and O'Shea, 2017).
Quantitative Research: This type is associated with observation of relevant data using
numeric methods, such as mathematical and statistical techniques. The aim of this
research is to get accurate responses which could be used later to analyse the data and
interpret the nature of information. An advantage associated with this method is that it
could not be influenced and could very well be tested by using several quantitative
methods. Moreover, it does not work on interpretations and a straightforward evaluation
could be attempted. As for disadvantages, it is quite complex in nature that could add to
additional cost or time. Moreover, it could mislead due to its scientific nature.
Document Page
For this particular research topic, Qualitative research is being used as the descriptive data
is required to be analysed which covers opinions and mind-sets of individuals that are not
quantifiable.
Types of Data Collection Methods
In terms of information, researchers could use different techniques that allow them to
gather desired data regarding their research topics. Hence, below are several types relevant to
this research.
Primary Data: This type of data is collected through first-hand sources and is fresh in
nature, i.e., similar data has never been acquired before and is independent of all study.
Its major advantage is associated with the fact that it allows researcher in gaining latest
and up-to-date information. Furthermore, it also allows individual to exercise control on
the information that is to be acquired. However, it might be time consuming. Moreover, it
could also lead to misinterpretation due to uneven and untrue responses (Zareen, Razzaq
and Mujtaba, 2015).
Secondary Data: This data is associated with second-hand information through a range
of sources, such as past books, journals and previous researches. A major advantage in
this part is that it saves time. Furthermore, it also saves cost of preparation of
questionnaires or surveys and is accessible. However, it might provide information that
has been tampered with, which would lead to ineffective information. Moreover, it might
not be accurate as it is not necessary that latest and relevant information is acquired.
Out of these two types of data, Secondary data is being used for the research in which data is
gathered through various sources using books, journals etc.
DISCUSSION
As per the above provide literature review, it can be said that employee motivation is very
necessary for an organisation as this is the key to success. Employees are key assets of company
and without them no organisation can perform their activities and operations effectively. A
motivated employee highly contributes in success of an organisation. If employees are motivated
in a company, the work more effectively which enables firm to accomplish its goals and
objectives. So management requires to put efforts towards motivating their employees so that
they stay motivated at workplace and put their cent percent efforts in performing their duties and

accomplish organisational goals. There are various ways through which an organisation can
motivate its employees (Bulto and Markos, 2017). This includes providing them with rewards
and incentives, recognise and appreciate them for their work, encourage effective
communication at workplace etc. All these will help management of company in motivating their
employees and ensure organisational growth and success.
LIMITATIONS
The research has some limitations including lack of time. If the time to conduct the research
is not adequate, then it will affect the completion time of research. Apart from this lack of money
is also a limitation of research due to which the quality of findings may be impacted. The another
limitation of research is sample size as it relies on nature of research issue. If the sample size is
small, then the test will not able to determine significant relationship within information or data
set (Strauss, Parker and O'Shea, 2017).
CONCLUSION
As per the above mentioned report, it has been concluded that it is very necessary for an
organisation to motivate its employees and keep them satisfied as this helps them in improving
productivity and attaining success.
RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended to firm that it should motivate its employees by providing them with
rewards and recognition for their good performance. This help in motivating them and
encouraging them to perform well in future.
