Introduction
Management information system is considered as the computerized database of the
financial informations those are organized and programmed in such a way that it provides the
regular reports on the operation for every management level in the organization. The main
purpose of the organization in implementing Management information systems is to provide
managers feedback regarding the organizational performances and the top management could
monitor the whole organization (Laudon and Laudon 2016). This study will focus on the
importance of the MIS system in the BIAO bank and will also discuss the challenges faced by
the organization while adopting the Management Information (MIS) system.
MIS system in the organization
The MIS system of the BIAO bank receives data from the bank’s units and functions and
some of the data are also collected automatically through the computer linked checkout counters
and those data are keyed at the periodic intervals (The bank BIAO at Côte d'Ivoire, Maple and
Atlantique, 2019). The routine reports are programmed and run at the intervals. The MIS system
also help the bank to monitors and displays the performance of the organization. In the BIAO
bank, MIS system helps to make the management of the bank to carry out and controlling
decisions. As stated by Takhmar et al. (2015), the major role of MIS system in the BIAO bank is
to identify the requirements of the information, collections of information, classifying the
collected informations, the retrieval of the information, information analysis and the decision
making process based on the analysis of the collected informations.

management in finding out the effects of the strategies and would help to enable the effective
decision making process. DeLone and McLean (2016) stated that the MIS system could be used
for transforming the data into the informations those are useful for making decisions. The
computer can provide the financial statement but will be unable to analyse the division regarding
the performance of the organization. Therefore the implementation of the MIS system would
meet the requirements of analysing the organizational performance. The management
information system introduces the collaboration process among the stakeholder and the
shareholders of the organization. The banks like BIAO bank operates for various segments in the
society thereby providing the diversified portfolios of the banking services including the credit
cards, bank account, loans and others, therefore for those banks it is important to maintain the
proper mass records for the transactions of the different individuals (The bank BIAO at Côte
d'Ivoire, Maple and Atlantique, 2019). It is a well-known fact that every record and data should
consist of the reliable backup in the cases of uncertainty such as the System crashing, virus
affected and others (Aburub 2015).
Issues and challenges faced by the organization while adopting MIS practices
BIAO bank faced challenges based on the management process issue that tells about the
functional operations of the organization like budgeting, personnel and the general management
(The bank BIAO at Côte d'Ivoire, Maple and Atlantique, 2019).

While adopting the MIS practices, the bank faced problem regarding the top
management support and aligning the management as per the strategic business goals.
This is recommended that the management of the MIS system should be done by
communicating with the employees regarding the vision, the role of the new MIS system and
its importance. Then only the staffs will understand the importance of the system and would
cooperate with bank for the implementation of MIS system and will be able to resolve the issues
and challenges faced by the bank (Susanto 2016).

Therefore from the above discussion, it can be concluded that the bank are able to
develop the system by the accumulation of the proper information regarding the performances of
the bank staffs. This also help to transform the data for taking any important decisions and as the
computer can provide the financial statement but cannot analyse the divisions based on the
organizational performances thus this requirement is fulfilled by the implementation of the MIS
system in the organization. The challenges faced by the banks are the environmental issues,
