Report
AI Summary
This report, rooted in healthcare epidemiology, explores the critical role of surveillance systems in modern healthcare environments. It highlights the functions of these systems, including data collection, disease detection, and performance monitoring within hospitals. The report emphasizes the significance of surveillance in improving health outcomes by providing tools for decision-makers, enabling efficient hospital management, and aiding in the detection of complex diseases. The analysis covers how surveillance systems assist in the registration and analysis of patient data, and the monitoring of healthcare professionals. The report concludes by stressing the importance of surveillance systems not only in health and hospitality but across all fields to enhance business production and performance. The report references NCBI, Science Direct, and Unite for Sight, which provide further insights into the topic.

Importance
Surveillance systems are those systems that generate the data on the diseases and geographic areas as
they help in measuring the relative importance of the events relating to the health. Surveillance system basically
acts as a tool for targeting and monitoring the interventions. This powerful tool also helps in empowering the
decision makers to lead and manage the hospital in the more efficient manner. With the faster pace the
corporate level minister of the health and the finance in the developing countries and the several heath agencies
are using the surveillance systems to detect the complex diseases, such as HIV and severe acute respiratory
diseases (Unite for Sight, 2018).
Functions
There are several functions of the Surveillance systems which have been discussed below.
Surveillance systems are required to collect the data and provide the basic scenario that communicates
about all the infectious diseases. There are certain diseases which require more than details in terms of the
variable and hence the surveillance systems act as a problem breaker for the hospitals (NCBI, 2018).
The functions of the surveillance system also include the registration of the cases at the faster pace to
cater the needs of the patients immediately. The analysis of the data can be interpreted by the assistance of the
surveillance system and the doctors can avail the immediate response in terms of the bills, health issues, and any
other requirements according to the needs (Science direct, 2018).
Surveillance is required to monitor the performance of the doctors and the staff as well. Monitoring is
done on the repetitive basis and on the regular intervals to record and analyses either on the basis of the past
performance or to set as the standard for the future performance.
Surveillance system is not restricted to the audio or the written supervision, rather the surveillance
system is subjected to the video assistance as well which can give the clear pictographs to the doctors to

understand the vulnerability of the disease in a better manner. The most important element of the video
surveillance is the clarity in the image and this shall be kept at the secure place to (Unite for Sight, 2018).
Therefore from the above analysis it can be stated that the surveillance system are of high importance
and they are required not only at the level of the health and the hospitality, but at all the fields and thereafter the
surveillance is the key to enhance the production of the business and increase the performance of the business.
