Teamwork is one of the essential factors that assist the companies to accomplish their set goals
and objectives in the workplace. Without teamwork, it is not possible for the companies to
enhance their growth in the highly competitive market. It has been observed that working in a
team can assist the employees in solving the problems or the issues in less time (Mesmer-
Magnus et al., 2017). Therefore, in this paper, the discussion will be made on "The importance
of teamwork in the workplace".
The importance of teamwork is related to efficiency. It can be seen that at the time of working in
a team, the employees are working towards their set goals and targets. The entire process of the
work becomes efficient. For instance: if there is an issue faced at the time of managing the
activities then there are more " Hands on the deck" that assist to solve the problem. In a similar
way, if there are many members in a team then it will be easy for the management to get the
work completed within the time frame with shared responsibilities. From a management point of
view, it can be said that encouraging the teamwork in the organization can help to take more
work which will directly boost the revenue without employing more employees. If teamwork is
considered by the management then it would be easy to maintain the quality of the services and
products which are offered in the competitive market as it motivates the employees to give their
best towards the assigned activities (Massenberg, Spurk and Kauffeld, 2015).
The next importance is related to idea generation. It is analyzed that it is considered as one of the
main benefits of working in a team as it helps in giving inspiration and also it led to lead
generation. At the time of considering the different ideas from the employees can help in
boosting the scope of creativity in relation to the assigned task. When the employees work in a
team then the employees have the confidence to share their views and opinions with the
management. Also, the employees focus on considering the safer option so that the positive
outcome can be attained in relation to the assigned work. When the brainstorming environment is
created than the employees have the opportunity to share innovate and unique ideas with the
management (Salmon, Stanton and Jenkins, 2017).
Apart from gaining new ideas, it can be examined that it brings individuals from different
backgrounds and levels of experience together which assist in creating optimal solutions.

professional development and learning. In teams, the employees learn different and unique things
which they are not aware of and it positively affects the thinking pattern. It can be possible for
the employees to gain new skills and capabilities that will help to grow in the future. The
individual team members are considered as an educational source for the other people in the
team environment. It is necessary to consider that as the employees gain knowledge, their
confidence level also enhances. This can assist in bring improvisation in their behavior and also
it boost job satisfaction which can also be known as WIN-WIN situation for the employers
(García-Campayo et al., 2016).
Teamwork also positively impacts the process of communication in the workplace. It is observed
that the activities in the team need both verbal and written communication skills, so this can be it
can be improved of the employees by working in a team. Working regularly in a team can assist
the employees in boosting their skills. Teamwork also facilitates an open discussion that helps
each team member to gain information about the project. This also ensures that when every
employee is in the same place then it helps to complete the projects in a proper manner (Fidalgo-
Blanco et al., 2015).
The workload of the employees is also shared at the time of working in a team. It can be said that
at the time of conducting the activities in a team and also towards the common objective, then
the workload of the employees is shared equally and also the task distribution takes place
according to the strength of the team member. Teamwork helps to offer assistance to the other
members when one person completes their work (Rodriguez and Walters, 2017). It is necessary
to consider that the employees work towards the same objectives so they assist the other team
members in completing the project. From a management points of view, when the focus is given
on delegation of the activities then the strengths of the employees are considered so that the task
can be assigned to the right person. If the right task is assigned to the right employees then it will
boost the efficiency and also maintain a high quality of the output in relation to the work
completed (Chuang, Jackson and Jiang, 2016).
Also, teamwork maximizes the satisfaction level of the employees towards their work. In a team,
the employees can be known as the support mechanism for other staff people. The individuals in
the group will always help each other so that success can be attained at the time of completing

the task. Also, there are many challenges which are not possible to be handled by an individual,
then in case of teamwork, other employees give support each other to attain the common goals
(Lantz Friedrich, Sjöberg and Friedrich, 2016).
Therefore, it can be concluded that teamwork is one of the essential aspects that assists in
managing the overall activities of the company. It is necessary for the companies to focus on
teamwork concept as it helps to boost the productivity, efficiency, communication and also
confidence of the employees towards the assigned work. Teamwork also offers the opportunity
to learn new skills and knowledge that positively impact the future growth of the employees in
the highly competitive market. So, teamwork should be considered so that it could be easy to
achieve the set goals and targets in the competitive market.
