Communication is a process of sending and receiving
of information from one person to another and one
group to another. In this report, the importance of
communication in health and social care will be
understood which help in understanding the
communication. It will explain the theories which are
involve in the communication process.

Importance of effective communication
Communication is a process of transferring
information from one person to another whose
purpose is to understand the message. The
communication has great importance in health
and social care settings because Health care is
the treatment where ill people are treated and
medical care is provided.

Types of communication
People use various modes of communication to interact with each other and send their
message to make understand their state of mind. There are different types of communication
that take place in health and social care settings which are depicted as under:
Verbal communication
Non verbal communication
Written communication
Formal communication

Theories of communication
A communication theory has described a way of talking and analyse the key element
and process of interaction that form a connection among people. It referees to a
sender, message and receiver which perceive environment in the form of signs,
symbol and thought. There are different type of theories which are depicted as under:

Libertarian theory

Barrier of communications
There are different types of barrier of communication which can occur between the
health or social care workers and patients that are describe as under:
Inability to listen others: It may be occur due to loud sound and some time persons
minds get distract with something unusual.
Language barrier: This barrier occur when the native language of people is different
and not able to make understand others what they want to convey.

Overcome to the barriers of communications
These barrier can be over come when people check the time and place before
communicating their message with each other. They should use clear language and
when they are from different culture so they should take help of translator who can
get their message understand to others. The people should communicate at the place
which is free from distraction which make them able to communicate.

CONCLUSION
From the above discussion, it has been conclude that a communication plays
crucial, role in health and social care stetting which make the social workers able
to understand the problems of their patients. Further the theories has been
discussed which states that how process of communication take place and what
barrier people have to face while conveying their message and how these are
