INTRODUCTION
An Information system is considered as the system that is organised enough for
organising, gathering information, storing and interacting (Hevner and Chatterjee, 2010). Also, it
can be termed as a composition of various components that makes a sort of interaction for
producing a set of data and information. It is being used by the JS supermarket in order to make
the operation's more flexible and also for increasing the overall productivity of the company. The
report is about understanding how MIS can help JS supermarket in improving the organisational
efficiency and also the efficient information system that can help in maximising the rate of
overall profitability.
TASK 1
Efficiency of MIS over improving operational efficiency
A management information system (MIS) is considered as a systematic database and is
also meant as a larger infrastructure. It is known for storing much amount of data of the financial
status and also, helps in providing report on a regular basis. Special reports can also be obtained
from the system by means of management information system. It gives a sort of feedback
consisting of the whole analysis about how the performance went on an overall basis.
Operational efficiency is considered as the ratio between two basic terms, the input amount used
to run the business and the output gained by the company from the customers and audience.
Productivity is also when JS supermarket, by various means, will be able to gain a huge amount
of satisfied customers, thus a larger productivity as well. An efficient MIS can actually help in
improving these two factors, operational efficiency along with the productivity because it helps
in providing a direction to JS supermarket and on the basis of it, the company can be able to
achieve the operational efficiency as well as the productivity at a higher extent. It can be done by
the following methods :
 A MIS makes use of the raw data and information about various different factors of the

these, the two systems capable enough of meeting all the requirements of the JS Supermarkets so
that the communication problem they are facing because the data is on different systems and they
are not able to fulfil the requirements of the suppliers, so they can either opt for management
information systems or business intelligence systems. Both the systems acquiring for the
following changes are discussed as following :

Business intelligence systems help in making a better identification, extraction and
analysis of the whole information and data so that the operational needs of the JS supermarket
can be achieved. It also helps in an effective decision making process. The BIS systems is also
capable of analysing and predicting the consequences. So, this might prove helpful for the JS
supermarkets because by this means, they can be able to predict before only about the
consequences in the market place, so they can focus on developing a system on which they can
store all the information and data and whenever it might be required by the supplier, they can be
able to assess it and solve all the queries of the supplier (Hevner and Chatterjee, 2010). So, this
system can prove helpful enough in resolving the queries.
Communication between purchasing department, suppliers could be improved
The BIS systems gathers the information and data from various different sources and
make it available on a single server according to the requirement of the business. So, from that
server, the data can be made available to all the parties included in the JS supermarket. So, it will
be assessed by every one including the stores and purchasing department. Thus, when the
information will be easily accessible to everyone, they can be able to answer the queries of the

Cloud computing has various functions that can be implemented and that can help in

efficiently and appropriately. Also, it has a special role in maximizing the productivity of the
company. The technology of cloud computing can help JS supermarket in scaling various
solutions as they will continue growing. The clod computing technology has a host which carries
out all the information and data that an individual can assess at any time. Along with the storage
it gives for storing the gathered data and information, it also helps in providing customer support.
To provide an efficient amount of support to the suppliers and customers, JS supermarket
can ensure the involvement of the cloud computing technology so that there must not be any
further communication issue and their suppliers as well as customers can be able enough to see
the data and information from any part of the world. This provides a wide range of support to the
customers and the suppliers by allowing their access to the information. It also provides a sort of

partners in a distributed system and by these means, they can have access to the information they
want. There is a PRM portal as well on which all the information and data is available (Furht and
Escalante, 2010). As the portal of the PRM is totally web based, so the suppliers and customers
can access it from anywhere in the world. The only condition is that they must have an internet
connection and after that they only have to login using their specified usernames and passwords.
Then they can login in the portal and are able to see all the information and data on that portal.
Sharing is also possible on the portal. One can share their resources and the details about various
processes with each other and it is not necessary to have a direct contact between them. It is very
easy and basic to share the data and information on the portal and can be assessed by the others
easily as well. It can also help JS supermarket in getting a powerful collaboration and also as
well defined communication tool for the whole channel of the JS supermarket.
Also, this will solve the communication problem of the company as well because less
coordination between these was the main issue for interacting with the suppliers, so when these
will be resolved, the productivity as well as the operational ability of JS supermarket will
automatically increase to a huge extent. It is because the PRM software holds various special
capabilities as it also permits one to push and pull the data at a very fast pace so that all the
parties of JS supermarket will be able enough to have a one to one interaction without any delay.
Also, it ensures the fact that the sharing of the data is being done at a fast rate so that all the

visibility about the dealers and the information related them like what they have done in previous
orders, what they think they are doing efficient and in past few years, in which factors of
themselves, they have brought some modifications and improvements. So, it provides a clear and

It can be concluded from the report that a management information system can actually
help in modifying the operations of JS supermarket in order to make better the operational
efficiency of the company and also it can act helpful enough in maximising the rate of
productivity of the company. Out of various IT systems, two were chosen as quite efficient and
relevant for JS supermarket and these were the business intelligence systems and the
management information system. From the MIS, cloud computing has been used in JS
supermarket so that the company can achieve a better operation ability along with a good range
of the overall productivity of the company.
