information and data of the chosen topic of research work. The data is collected for the specific
purpose, it is tool and techniques which are used by the researcher during the study. It is a
summary of the research work.
Quantitative Research
This research is done first time. It's fundamental aim is obtaining the knowledge and
motivating as well as getting the opinion about the research study. This study uses certain
methods which are based on observation to non- numerical data. However, this methods which
helps in improving better hypotheses for possible research. In this study the sample size are small
and the research is based on focus group. Also, qualitative data collection is unstructured
techniques. Under this research, the information are gathered in numerical manner which
represents in a graphical or tabular manner.
Qualitative Research
The research which is based on the market survey method. The data and information is
collected through open ended questionnaire. In this study the researcher has to do random

research study qualitative research help to select an individual among the group examples of
conducting this survey by interview, group decision, questionnaire and it forms descriptive data.
Under the present project, the researcher used qualitative method which are used for
collecting the data and analysing it in theoretical manner.
Primary Research
Data collected through primary resource is first hand data collected for first time by the
researcher. It is unused, original data and not already recorded anywhere. This require efforts of
researcher to collect it. Primary data can be collected from internal sources like employees,
managers of same organisation or even from external customers and general public. Main
techniques used for collection of data are interviews, surveys, questionnaire, focus group, etc.
Data collected through this method is more reliable and up to date. But this method is quite

used.
Secondary Research
6
Document Page
This is mainly the stored data can be taken from books, journals ,literature and also
available in electronic form over various sites on internet. It is basically the data collected by
someone else but used by researcher. Main purpose of using secondary data is it saves a lot of
money and resources needed for conducting primary research. As it is a used data it is quite easy
to do research on basis of this. But it might be possible that data is outdated or not cover all
relevant aspects of research. One more issue is that it is typically related with quantitative
phenomenon and ignore qualitative factors some times.
Sampling
It is a process by which a researcher selects a representative group from the given
population having similar characteristic. It is very useful when the size of target population is
very large. For sampling , basis of selection for a sample is decided first after that an appropriate
method is applied like random sampling, systematic sampling, stratified sampling, clustered
sampling, etc. Sampling helps in saving time and resources both, as no need to check each item
of the population, you have to go through only selected sample.

What was the Project supposed to accomplish?
The aim of the project was, “To identify the ways by which multinational companies can
improve their recruitment, selection and training of employees to meet International
requirement.” A study on Nestle . The project is executed upon Nestle which is required to
incorporate certain changes within training, recruitment and selection procedures in order
to accomplish global requirements. The improvements within these procedures will drive
the organisation to attain the goals and objectives in a timely manner.
Did the project succeed in its aims/ how do you know? Specifically, please

range of perspectives.
While carrying out study based on recruitment and selection within Nestle, I
underwent various situations that provided me opportunities to conduct the research
in the desirable way. With the help of primary research, I was able to communicate
with many persons and thereby gain their views and opinions upon the topic to
inflate my existing level of knowledge. This worked well and assisted in completing
the research within a time span of 7-8 weeks. From project inception to project
26

outcomes, all the activities were properly executed.
What problems emerged during the project and how were they tackled? Was
there timely identification of issues and resolution during the project
process?
I encountered certain difficulties. The foremost was to keep the attention of
respondents in-tacked as many of them were not willing to answer the questions
while some were responding to the questionnaire ignorantly. In this regard, I also felt
that the money allotted to complete the research was not adequate which caused
difficulties for me.
What did you learn from undertaking the project?
I learned few skills such as time management, communication skills and research
skills which aided me in carrying out investigation in an appropriate manner.
How would you rate your performance as a management consultant leading
the project?
I will rate my performance 7 by 10 as this was the first time I was carrying out
research and I conducted the project in a timely manner.
What strengths and weakness of your performance did you identify?
The strength was to effectively coordinate all the activities appropriately. The
weaknesses was lack of time management skills owing to which I felt that the time
provided by company for carrying out the research was very less and I faced major
difficulties in executing the study with the time constraint.
How will this inform and support your continuous professional
development?
