Introduction
Common good is considered to be an idiosyncratic thought in the context of the Catholic
social theory (The Common Good and Healthcare Policy. 2019). The study will analyze the
subsidiary principle of Common Good principles while considering the issue for the teacher
support.
People from the different parts of the world need to be aware of the problematic issues
which cause inadequacy of support for teaching professionals mainly from the nursing
background so that this grave problem can be handled quite tactfully by the government, non-
government and private authorities (Bvumbwe, Malema, & Chipeta, 2015). The teaching
professionals are not always given much dignity as they require, which is not expected. On the
other hand, people are also not encouraged to choose this as their career opportunity, and
therefore, this profession is undignified (Kaldal, Kristiansen, & Uhrenfeldt, 2018).. All these
issues need to be resolved so that the teachers, particularly from a nursing background, do not
have to by the suffer from the problem of inadequacy of support by the respective authorities of
the institutions and also from the outside of that institution (Bvumbwe, Malema, & Chipeta,
2015).
According to Hannan (2015), the article reviewed a survey which was conducted between
10 schools from the district Mckinley and Rainier. The results showed that few schools are
economically backwards ranging from 75%-90%. The teaching professionals from the nursing
background are not provided with adequate subsidiary from the institutional authority in most of
the cases, and this scenario demands a reform (Hannan et al. 2015). Therefore the initiative on
the part of the government and non-governmental organization requires to be implemented so

that the teaching professional from the nursing background do not have to face such issues of
lack of support, and they can continue their way of teaching quite efficiently. The scenario is
more or less same in the national as well as global basis and therefore it needs to be changed

votes (UK and USA) reveals a number of evident parallels in the voting prototypes on each side
of the Atlantic (Riordan SJ, 2016). The main issue that was highlighted in the voting was the
generational break up and the educational fissure. According to the report of BBC on the EU
referendum, most of the voters under 35 voted to remain (Riordan SJ, 2016). In the same context
“The Telegraph” reported that voters falling in the age group of 30-39, 51% supported Clinton
whereas 40% voted for Trump (Riordan SJ, 2016). It is also resulted that voters with a PG degree
have more than half support for Clinton whereas just 35-37% for Trump the election (Riordan
SJ, 2016). Thus, it is very relatable that education is a major source for a global voting campaign.
So, education can be considered as a common good and a private good for the society.
Considering the topic ‘inadequate support for teacher in school’ subsidiary can be the
best common good principle. The referred principle states the limits and responsibilities of
government along with the important role of the voluntary associations (The 10 Building Blocks
of Catholic Social Teaching. 1998). Teachers are the pillar of the society who prepare the next
generation, considered as the future of the nation. Thereby, the generation and their proper
upbringing are much important where the teacher plays the most important role (Cornell., 2016).
The government of a nation is the authority to decide and control everything properly. It is their
duty to check whether the teachers are getting enough support for the facilitation of the learning
process (Deem et al., 2015). The problem inadequacy of support for the teaching profession,
especially for those in the case of nursing has become quite prominent all over the world. For

any otherwise situation, they are facing, then it is the duty of the government to solve the issue as
soon as possible, or the responsibility needs to be taken by the voluntary associations (The 10
Building Blocks of Catholic Social Teaching. 1998). In this regard, the teachers are facing the
issue of inadequate support which somehow shows the limitation of the government as they fail
to fulfill their responsibility and thus the case can be treated as the ‘subsidiarity’ considering the
common good principle (Follesdal et al., 2015).
Conclusion
The essay ponders upon the inadequate support for teachers in schools regarding nursing
profession, as it becomes the major issue globally. Throughout the discussion, it objectifies the
importance to fight with the issue. In this concern it is even discussed that the issues teachers are
facing for the problem which shares a negative impact for the nursing profession.
